  • I started my hot dog cart business just over 2 years ago during Covid and now I wish I'd gotten into a cart 30 years ago.. I'm in the process of building out my food trailer to expand and make even more money, but the cart has made enough for me to pay my bills and expand the business. I highly recommend others to look into it and get into street food either way!
  • I started 5 hears ago... the business plan has changed at least once a year. Lol... I currently run the largest hot dog cart business in my city. Several employees invluding vendors and managers. In my experience, city regulations are the BIGGEST hindering factor in the growth of my business. Its really a pain.
  • @rray3630
Ive seen hot dog steam tables / serving stations that the guy was wearing over his shoulders like a marching band drummer. very cool and almost zero overhead
  • Moved to Daytona beach to start hot dog business. STAY TUNED
  • @maspotts1
You also have to figure out if your city allows carts as opposed to food trucks/ trailers. This is how it was for me, the direct opposite of what this video talks about. I’m not saying it’s wrong, but some cities will not allow food carts while still allowing food trucks/ trailers. I had my business license denied by St George, UT (yeah, I’m calling you out) because food carts, specifically, are not allowed by city ordnance. That city lost my business due to government regulations and I went to a different city where I kill it now.

This was a GREAT video on how to start a hotdog business! Ty for the content!!
  • I was talking with my brother about getting into the business of selling hot dog, it seems low cost production and very good money profited.
  • @Leonnoelmusic
A true master put thousand tiny slice in hot dog 🙏
  • @Incognito-fe8cw
In Montreal, you need to purchase a city approved stainless steel cart which starts at approximately 12 - 14 thousand dollars in order to get your permits/licenses ! GOOD LUCK !
  • Been vending since june. First year. Terrible! Can I use my home phone # for my business and put it on my cards? I can't afford multiple phone #s from Spectrum. Any ideas?
  • @galewinds7696
Eh....you start by buying a package of hotdogs 🌭 😋
  • I'm building my hot dog trailer and I talked to my health department before I started building buy this month or next i'm going for the inspection now I'm getting nervous
  • @andrub23
Unbelievable how many government hoops are necessary just to sell hotdogs. Dumb. Super Fing dumb!!!! And everyone thinks this is somehow normal or safe. It prices most people out of the market which is exactly the reason America has become a virtual desert. Sick!
  • @stevelewis3292
Really good insight. Why wouldn’t someone just purchase a truck so that you can avoid hitching, storage etc?
  • Try doing this in Upstate, New York!!! You Can'T!!!! My Big Dog Cart has cancer. Needs a whole new 304 side panel, windshield too! I'm rotting! Still stuck in my Fart-Mart job.
  • I think I remember in one of your videos you said that you were out of Tennessee and that you used recipal to create your nutrition labels. The commercial kitchen I just started working out of has asked me how I'm going to get nutrition labels, and I said recipal, and they said to me that the state might not like that. I don't know of any other way to create a nutrition label because I learned about recipal from watching your channel, and that's how I've been doing it up until the time I started going into the commercial kitchen. I have written to the state asking these types of questions and they never respond. Matter of fact you're the only person that ever responds to any of my questions LOL which I appreciate. I'm thinking online programs are the only way since they're not required spices to be lab tested. Do you know of any other way? Is there any other program that you use? Or recommend? That is State approved? Thank you.🥰
