You win, NinJa!! Absolutely the best soundtrack of any "here's how to" vid. No kidding. (Can you feel my disdain for the pumping industrial wanking or EDM that most folks impose on you while you are involved in watching them perform tasks?)
-
thanks for taking the time to do this! not a whole lot up on how to change amp tubes and bias them..
-
5751 tubes work well in either stage of these amps, Normal V1 or Vibrato V1. Makes Pedals friendlier, works the power tube tone better, old SRV trick.
-
And thank you for demonstrating. The music was a plus. Might keep one calm cool and connected to the job when trying to find which way to plug in the pre-amp tubes. Cha-cha chaaa!
-
So, to bias I only have to attach probe to that one power tube, do he screw driver thing and biasing is done? I don't have to do that with the other 2 power tubes?
-
Very good video. Just got one of these amps and was wondering where the bias pot was. Thanks
-
Watch uncle Doug and learn. This should be a 90 second vid
-
Presumably you have a pair of matched power tubes, hence making the bias adjustment with the probe only connected to one tube? Also, it looks like you have to twist those metallic covers slightly to get them off?
-
Wondering, which direction to turn when biasing? Clockwise is colder and counter is hotter?
-
Give Tung-Sol 6v6 power tubes a try. They sound incredible for blues and rock. I believe Grove tubes are just re-labeled JJs or sovteks. My Grove tubes look exactly as jjs. My drri came alive when I went to Tung-Sol 6v6s and their preamps and rebias.
-
Is there any danger of shock or electrocution when touching the basis adjustor with the screw driver?
-
Itβs easier to see which way to orient the pins if you turn the amp upside down.
-
Do I need the bias probe for cathode.or plate current
-
Any tips on the noise from Deluxe Reverb 65 reissue ?
-
I like the JJs in the Fender amps but I like the Electro -Harmonix tubes better. Just make sure you buys them burned in and Matched.

411v plate voltage divided 14 watts for the 6l6 = 29.35 . 70% of max plate dissipation is 20.5 ma. No?
-
Quick dumb question, when setting the bias, where should the volume knob be set? All the way down, 0 volume or where?
-
Hello, i see that you also have a princeton. i also have that exact same bias probe. Anyway, the plate voltage of my princeton came out to 420 which is higher than what you got from your deluxe. Shouldnt the princeton have lower voltage than a deluxe? is that normal? What is the plate voltage of your princeton? thank you in advance.
