5:30 Will Dr. Berg continue the carnivore diet?

In this video, Iā€™m going to share my opinion of the carnivore diet after following it for 2 weeks. Not everyone does well on the same diet, so itā€™s important to experiment with different diets to find the right one for you.

Many people do very well on the carnivore diet! The carnivore diet can be very helpful for people with gut issues and autoimmune conditions.

While on the carnivore diet, I ate beef, pork, eggs, seafood, shellfish, and dairy. I discovered that I had been experiencing bloating due to my nut consumption. I didnā€™t experience any energy changes because I already have high energy.

For the first few days, I didnā€™t have any bowel movements. This was probably because my gut microbes needed to adjust.

Some people wonder about vitamin C intake on the carnivore diet. When you go on the carnivore diet, your need for vitamin C decreases.

I do not plan to continue the carnivore diet. I will continue eating the same proteins along with salads made from high-quality ingredients. Iā€™ll also consume fermented vegetables like sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles.

I love to add extra virgin olive oil, parmigiano reggiano, nutritional yeast, and feta cheese to my salads. The calcium in cheese binds to any oxalates that are in your salad, removing them from the digestive system.

Iā€™ll also add berries to my diet, but I wonā€™t be eating any nuts!

I know, I do agree that a 2 week test is not the best evaluation. I guess this is a tiny pilot evaluation.

I started the carnivore diet I was just diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, pre-type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. I was so sure I was about to die and honestly, I probably was. now 7 months later I have lost 70 lbs, all the Parkinson's symptoms have gone away, and I'm off all my blood pressure meds, I've bought a bike and I ride it every day. I am now on a mission to get in the best health I can get to. So did it work for me, yes.

2 year carnivore here. Iā€™ve lost over 500 lbs (yes, not a typo!). I agree diets are not one size fits all. For me, carnivore works! Being 800lbs is restrictive. Eating meat only has freed me from thinking about food 24/7, cravings, i now have an off switch. Food is no longer the highlight of my life. I now have a life. Itā€™s not for everyone. But for me, I feel better now in my 50ā€™s than I did in my 20ā€™s! I weigh less now too! :)

I recommend everyone to find the book titled Unlocking Carnivore Potential ; it goes deep into all of this, and it changed my life
  • My wife had colon issues for 7 years. Her stomach was is pain everyday. She couldn't sleep well. Her knees hurt. She had low energy. She was losing weight so bad. She was in her 20s by the way. Not very old. I took her to doctors and they gave her medicine. It didn't help. We struggled with this for 7 years. I didn't think it would ever go away. I was praying one day and God dropped this into my heart to let her go all meat for a few weeks... That same week she slept like a baby. Knees quit hurting. Her colon didn't hurt again. I was amazed. It has been 33 days now and has gotten way better. She is still healing in her bowels but she's 90% better Thanks doc for sharing what you have learned over the years.

I've been carnivore for over five months. I reversed fatty liver, diabetes, no more diverticulitis attacks, no more bursitis no more bleeding gums, I can breathe through my nose while exercising. I've lost over thirty pounds from size 16 to 8/10. I just got my blood work results back and my Dr said I'm perfect and don't stop what I'm doing. Carnivore saved my life.

I've been on the carnivore way of eating for about 18 months now. It has been life changing for me. I was diagnosed with Psoriatic and Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as Fibromyalgia and Hashimotos Disease over the last three decades. I've lost nearly 70 pounds but I consider that a bonus to everything else that has happened. I'm now off all medications and all of my inflammation markers are now normal. I feel like I'm getting my life back. I will never go back to eating the Standard American Diet again. I'll stick with Carnivore....I don't miss salads....I miss the dressings I used to drench them in.

Iā€™ve been following you for years and you have done an incredible service for people. I got a stomach virus for two months in early ā€˜22. I had been Keto for years. After I got sick, I decided to do the 10 cups of veggies a day as you recommend. Being sick really scared me. I knew I had to improve my immune system. I have gotten sick 4x a year as long as I can remember. I went carnivore in April of 2022 and in 2023, it was the first time I hadnā€™t gotten sick the whole year. I know my body is healing, but I donā€™t necessarily think it is for everyone. All my cravings went away as well. Cravings were constantly there on Keto. Thanks for making this video.
  • 62yr old retired RN, been 90% carnivore x10 months ( very occassional seasonal fruit, some fermented veggies, some honey) with great improvements; lost 30 lbs, weaned off bp meds, no more gerd, L knee pain resolved, sleeping better, tons of energy, improved mental clarity. Haven't felt this great in decades...never going back! We are not as individual as we think we are. Humans have had the same anatomy and physiology we have always had. What changed was our obssesion with carbs, deceptive marketing and all our "franken-foods". Give it a try for 30 days and see how YOU feel. ā¤
  • 50 year old male. Was on SAD diet my whole life then Vegan diet from age 46 to 48. Felt like I was dying and two years ago at age 48 started the carnivore diet. I feel the best eating ribeye, ground elk, ground hamburger, eggs, bacon, butter, salt, San Peligrino, and two cups black coffee in the morning. So thatā€™s all I eat. I reversed these health issues. Pre diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, lost 70pounds, brain fog, depression, anxiety, joint paint throughout whole body. I started keto through learning from Dr Berg and felt great but quickly switched to the carnivore diet and feel even better.
  • @kalkidan223
I lost 65 pounds 6 years ago with your advice healthy keto but I was still having so many issues and 3 years a go I decided to start carnivore diet OMG the first time I felt normal again for me is the answer of my prayer.
  • @HappilyCarnivore
I'm happy to see you shedding some light on carnivore. I'm one that only had minor results on keto, but when I went carnivore even my toughest decade-long issue was reversed three months in. I was really suffering for years, including extreme bloating (by evening I looked 11 months pregnant and had pain into my shoulders and back), 10 years of nothing but liquid stools with bits of undigested vegetables, extreme exhaustion, frequently out of breath, frequent periods of my head feeling weird, lots of pain, and many more physical symptoms. I had also been struggling with mental health issues for decades, diagnosed bipolar II in 2002, and had near-constant depression and debilitating anxiety. I've been carnivore 2 1/2 years now and as long as I stay carnivore EVERY physical AND mental symptom stays gone. Carnivore is hands down the best thing I've never done for myself, and I can't help thinking of all of the people out there with similar issues to mine who might find relief eating this way. You have such a large following that I'm especially thrilled to see you do a video on it, and I hope that you occasionally do more.

Dr. Berg was the very first channel I found in December 2021 when searching for information on the Keto diet. Dr. Berg explains things in a way that makes it easy for anyone to understand which helped me get going on my nutritional health journey. I then found a handful of other channels that are also wonderful and have been very beneficial as well. I did amazing on Keto for about 6 months then began slipping off the wagon. I am about to begin my second week of Carnivore and for me I find it much easier because of the stricter limitation on what I eat. I found on Keto it's easy to fall into the Keto snacks and other foods being marketed as Keto when they truly are not while I was trying to find replacements for my favorite foods. For me, on Carnivore those simply are not an option which I find helpful. The more I learn the more angry I become because so many people are suffering unnecessarily especially here in America. Thank you, Dr. Berg for the part you play in saving lives by helping people understand how their bodies operate.

Something that I appreciated about going carnivore almost two years ago is that by consuming only meat as a discipline, one eliminates SO much processed food. That alone strengthened my body in so many ways. No processed grains, no seed oils, no sugar, because all of these categories of food were no longer in my shopping cart OR my now-balanced body. The mental fog is gone. That took two weeks. Joy appeared, and I didnā€™t even have to pursue it. The time that I used to spend shopping for and preparing food was diminished. Less dishes to wash and less left-overs filling my fridge. Good fresh meat, quality salt and plenty of water set me on a new path to great health. Sixty pounds of my old self is gone, never to return. Two weeks is not long enough, Dr. Berg. And it makes sense to start out with just beef and salt, then add other things like chicken, fish, and cheese to see how you react. Found out that I do best eating once a day until I am full, then fasting for 20-24 hours. Life-changing!

Iā€™ve been carnivore for a year. At 61, I feel better than I have the last three decades. My mind is clearer, my joint pain is gone, my IBS symptoms are gone, my skin looks great and I have more energy. The ā€œfiberā€ everyone said I needed tore up my intestines, now I have a comfortable BM every two to three days. My body just feels at peace. Itā€™s been a long time coming, and Iā€™m not going back.
  • @meeshalabird8233
We accidentally became carnivore when I heard you talking about how it can heal bowel problems. We were vegan and I went to put my husband on it and as I was preparing his meal I popped a piece of meat in my mouth and ā€¦. That was it we both went carnivore. A year ago now. Thanks to you ā¤
  • @mommabear5059
I absolutely love this video and for one main reason. You said the most important thingā€¦ā€¦.thereā€™s not a one size fits all. I do not feel great with red meat, unless I eat it every now and then when I get a craving for it. Like you, I love my salads and I put a lot of good stuff on my salads. I also love fruits and vegetables and feel amazing when I eat them. When I tried eating more red meat just because of the studies about the nutrition, I became constipatedā€¦..something I never deal with. So as you said, there are genetics and other factors involved. I think Iā€™m going to stick to a Whole Foods diet with a variety of meat, chicken, fish, veggies, and fruit and fasting when my body tells me to. Thanks for all the work you do and share with your audience.
  • @TomCarnivore
I was keto for a long time and now I've been on the carnivore for 2 years, never felt better. Depression GONE, IBS GONE, headaches GONE, fatique GONE, excess body fat GONE, libido better than ever. My skin looks amazing and im thriving in the gym. I will never quit, this is my new way of life.
  • @donnafarley
I appreciate that you chose to try. That's an open-minded attitude. Thank you for that. So refreshing. AND intelligent.
  • @GreatMutaFan76
I switched from keto to carnivore August 6 2023. I do OMAD and Iā€™ve lost 105 lbs, no more blood pressure meds or arthritis meds. Mental clarity is off the charts and my depression is the lowest itā€™s been in decades. Iā€™m fighting stage 3 rectal cancer and I truly feel carnivore is the reason I can still pump iron 6 days a week and walk everyday 5 to 10 miles. Saturday is only cardio and walk and ride a stationary 10 to 20 miles. Going carnivore has been a life changer for me. Love your videos Dr. Berg. šŸ¤˜šŸ¼
