    2023 he was given surgery and expected to have only normal success this season. But I thought it might be an overestimation for a pitcher to have a normal performance as a hitter after the surgery. But even that was an underestimation. He hit 29 home runs in the first half of the season alone, and his batting average was over .300. I can no longer find words to describe him. I'm at my wits' end. I'll devote the rest of my life to watching Otani.

    Honestly who wouldn't love him, who is genuinely enjoying the baseball??? And he has achieved 200 homers, 500 RBI, and 100 SB in 800 games of MLB career... He is really a unicorn, with a unique record that no other player has achieved.

    You sit here and watch the awesome power this guy brings to the plate and those MONSTER 460ft HR's and then remember...oh yea, he can also throw 100mph and throws with ridiculous movement on the ball. Oh, and don't forget, elite base stealing speed when he feels like it. Once in a century talent.

    There's no more debate. Shohei Ohtani is the best player in baseball, period. Throughout basically all of 2023 I was telling people he would be a Dodger, and the fact that they made it happen and he is absolutely delivering on the hype in just the first year is just incredible to watch. He's made this team and this sport a billion times more fun. Hopefully he's lifting a certain trophy come October.
