Scoring for a Superhero Theme from Scratch in 15 Minutes!

Publicado 2024-04-01
Let's create a Heroic Theme using the most basic/simplest orchestration techniques! I've seen a great number of scores that employ similar techniques, so I believe it's time for me to unveil the mystery of epic soundtracks and show you how they are created!

0:00 Intro
0:36 String Section
4:07 Brass Section
10:03 Choir
11:24 Percussion
15:07 Full music
16:14 Thank you

No mistake with the melodic part while recording it live. Respect. I would fail at this without recording it over and over again.
  • @DavidJewell98
Great tutorial! And love seeing that you're using Reaper
  • @Maplefoxx-vl2ew
pls do more complete videos like this one where you show everything. and if you could briefly show us volume balancing, library microphone selections and mixing of the tracks would also be very helpful thanks, i understand quite a bit now but am also feeling very lost when i attempt to create a project. videos like this will be very helpful. you speak very nice and clear and easy to understand thank you.

Incredible video! Thank you so much. Great to see other composers using Reaper. I would suggest that you set all of tracks to "Automatic Record-Arm When Track Selected". It can be found by right clicking a track (or multiple selected tracks). It's a huge time saver in my workflow.
  • @squeakD
Great video.., and you’re using Reaper too!
  • @TigerRichards
Is that Audiomachine? Or maybe Howard Shore? No, it's Hammy! You make it look easy. Great tutorial, and I for one appreciate the tight editing. Well done.
  • @Alex69ification

  • you are amazing, all the details you give like images , notation, sheet music, how to play, references, instruments, orchestration and so on are so complete! it's very very useful for us , and most of all the sharing of the midi file! keep it up, soon you will l be very well known and a star, I'm sure, thanks a lot Hammy (please, what choir library are you using? thanks)
  • I use Reaper and LMMS, for different purposes. Thank you very much for this instruction video.

Good scoring and your orchestration was interesting for me !
  • @TigHam
Very nicely done! This tutorial deserves more views
  • Great orchestration! It's also refreshing to see that your template doesn't have a separate track for each articulation. I particularly ditched that for sound variations (expression maps), but I still have a track for shorts and longs for each instrument. May I ask how do you make it work for you in terms of mixing and/or stems?
  • @OtelloAzzali
Great job! Many thanks. Pls keep doing video like this. Ciao
  • @Comedy4cast
Easy. Thorough. Just what I needed. Thank you, Hammy.
  • @jenstornell
It seems so easy but in real life it's a real challenge. Great work! 🎉
  • Fascinating. I had only the vaguest idea how that is done. Thanks!
