If any of you are confused about this short... Why it's called Nine Basically, it's called Nine because cats have nine lives. And, which ever cat needed to collect the souls, they had to get another cat to do it for them. Once the cat collects nine, those souls return back to the other cat, setting him free. While the other cat is turned it the monster the first cat was. What's overall going on in the story So, the first cat was chasing the butterfly the (I'm just gonna call it a demon cat) demon cat sent out. Once the first cat was in the forest, the demon cat gave the first cat the ability of super strength so he could get the souls for the demon cat. Once all the souls were retrieved that were needed, the demon cat didn't have to stay any longer. The demon cat dropped his mask. Soon the first cat had to become the demon cat, and sent out his very own butterfly to lure in another cat to then be set free, back into a normal cat. If this helped, 👇🏻 Please 😉

When I was 8 years old, I watched this, once I saw the cat getting attacked I was like “Oh no! Poor cat!” Then I saw that scary mask thing, I freaked out. Coming back to it, I see some truly great animation.

Moral Of The Story : If Milk starts coming out nstead of blood, you've sold your soul to a demon

I just realized that it means from beginning to start 9 cats had entered the same fate. For that 9 stood for nine lives, and it means the first cat started the curse and passed it down with each dying when they managed to trick another into their fate

Moral of the story: get rid of every butterfly your cat sees

I realize that the kitten had to collect souls for the troll cat so the troll cat could be freed, but what I got out of this is that anger, revenge & murder just ruin whatever goodness is within your soul.

I have never seen anything like this. The uses of different animation styles throughout the story to give the mood more impact was done incredibly well.
