My parents had 9 children. I'm number 6. We've lost 3 siblings, so now we are all closer than we have ever been. We can't see each other every day because of busy lives. We have a group text to stay connected. Every day a couple of us send out the latest hack or craft we seen. Thank you so much for always giving me an arsenal of communication for my siblings. ❤❤
  • Thanks for tips! My old deceased mom showed me how to do an old fashioned “peel n stick” that works great! We had to cover hideous kitchen wallpaper in rental! I bought inexpensive unbleached muslin material and Procion cold fabric dye and dyed it a nice dusty blue in washing machine. Ironed it. Got big bowl of fabric starch and dipped each piece in it and slapped it on the wall and smoothed and cut around it and let it dry!!! Looked great and lasted 3 years even with cooking steam. We moved and peeled each piece off!!! Then i used water and mopped walls and starch residue came right off!!! Deposit fully returned!!!

Onion Hack: I started putting my onions in the fridge probably 30 years ago. If you don't have room for lots of onions like I have, then put a couple in your crisper, replacing with fresh ones when you use them. I never cry anymore since I started doing this. 😂😊

Im 63 and if my parents had a very dusty job, they would use wet newspaper which works the best and paper towels as an alternative - the last 10 newspapers are harder to find. You can use old mail sheets, old homework sheets that kids just love to get rid of. Thought I share older hacks.
  • @theraweggfiles
I used to use the wet paper towel hack for my cutting boards, but I found that I was wasting so much paper. Then one day, I bought a silicone baking mat and put it under the board. I have been using that instead ever since, and it works like a charm. No waste, no fuss.

I use my blow dryer on the high heat setting to remove labels. It works great. Just put the blower close to the label for about 30 seconds and it warms up the glue and then you can peel off the label. 😊

Thanks for some great hacks. Here are a couple of things to try: * For the scissors hack at 37:50, instead of using aluminum foil to sharpen scissors, wash, dry, and save the little foil lids that come on single-serve apple sauce, coffee, and other foods. Then, when it's time to sharpen some scissors, cut one of them up and drop it into the recycle bin. * For removing labels from jars, fill the jar with hot water and then use hot water or your favorite method on the outside to remove the label while the hot water is still in the jar. Heat is glue's enemy.

I keep the used dryer sheets and use them to clean with. They wipe up dried washing powder liquid so easily, remove dust off of anything and yes have used them on baseboards, wet a little and clean off tennis shoes, etc. Great way to recycle and get extra uses out of them.

You shouldn't wash your blueberries before you put them in the fridge. The trick to making blueberries last longer is to put them in a mason jar with a folded paper towel on top. Only wash the berries as you intend to use them.
  • @theraweggfiles
For the wobbly candles, if you burn the end a bit, the melted wax will keep the candle steady once you place it back in the holder.
  • Cut any onion without tears by just keeping your mouth closed as you cut. Learned while working in a restaurant kitchen. Amazing
  • @marionbylsma1167
Those fleece gloves are great for dusting everywhere. You can pick up your ornaments and Decima and put them back down and go along the bookshelf or wherever you’re picking them up from. I love that.
  • Soaking the jars in hot, soapy water has typically worked for me. Loved all the hacks. GREAT!
  • You can skip nailing holes in your mason jar lid for string organizing…just use a parmesan cheese lid with the holes already provided!
  • @GailLawson-mt7xz
Wonderful! The “string jar” can be done with an empty Parmesan container. The lid will also fit a mason jar. The holes work well with drinking straws. Blessings!
  • Retired Chef, here..I Like the toothbrush holder/lge flower -vase trick. It’s best to keep your onions in the fridge to preserve them perfectly and they will NEVER make you cry! Great tips all throughout this video. We got “Less chitty chat More quick tips!!” Also, vinegar destroys mold spores, so Ease-Up on the vinegar and use more water (you’re overkilling the hack unnecessarily) shake garlic cloves in a jar and they’ll lose their skins, quickly!

I knew about not mixing bananas with apples but only learned 4 years ago to wrap the tops of the bananas at the stalk where they are connected with a self sticking plastic wrap. This prevents the enzyme in that end from spreading down the fruit and ripening the fruit. I've found my bananas last at least twice as long by doing this as soon as I get them home from the store.😊 Thank you for some great hacks Liz!
  • @maryjomench133
I rinse berries off, as usual, pat with paper towel, as usual, and put in a jar (Mason, old pasta, old pickle). Bought large container of blackberries as test, dated lid, and when I used them it had been 6 weeks and no mold. I did rinse and pat again. I loved some of these 👍
  • WOW!!!! I've been doing some of these things the hard way. Thank you so very much. I have lower back and hip pain, so I appreciate whatever shortcut you guys can help me with. Thanks everyone!!
  • @sheba0907
Goo gone never fails me in taking off labels. When there is leftover stickiness/little bit of label left on the jar, I use the scrubby side of a two-sided sponge and Dawn dish detergent. As a side note regarding using peanut butter to remove labels, if it really worked, then get a cheap jar somewhere because I would not waste my good peanut butter on anything like that! 😁
