If a cruise port or city does not want me or my money so be it. I am certainly not going to expose myself to such negativity for a vacation. So no cruises or vacations to Barcelona for my wife and me! Makes another destination off our list, along with Juneau, Alaska and more. The no go list seems to be growing.🤔

The Barcelona incident was one day. Reading most of the Spain trip forums, it is safe to go and no one has had any issues.

we left Barcelona on. a celebrity ship, but stayed 3 nights before to expperience Barcelona ..may be thats what locals want, to stay and experience the local culture...we had a fabulous trip enjoying all the Barcelona top spots..than boarding the ship.

Very sad 😢 I arrived in Barcelona on the Sun Princess a few weeks ago, and luckily none of this nonsense was happening then we were in Barcelona for 5 days and had a very pleasant time. I'm a floridian and can sympathize with tourist saturation. However, I'm cognizant that tourism equates to the financial stability of my state and i also feel lucky to live somewhere that so many people want to come and visit 😊 🌴

I'll be in Barcelona this coming Nov for a transatlantic with RC. I was initially hesitant to go into the city, now I most definately will not. My hotel is right on the port, and that's where I will stay for the day until I board the next day.

While I love cruising, I have to say that the crowds at ports are ridiculous now! I find myself staying on the ship more often than not.

If you haven't already lived in a tourist trap and put up with mobs of people everyday taking up affordable housing leaving garbage, vomit , peeing in your yard and the rest of it you would be fed up with tourists as well.

The headline is totally misleading. The protests were against tourists in general, NOT targeting cruise passengers in particular.
