TUKONG HISTORY:
Tukong Moosul is a traditional style of martial art. Grandmaster Wonik Yi holds a 9th-degree black belt and is the creator of Tukong Moosul and founder of the World Tukong Moosul Federation.

Tukong Moosul is both a very new style and one whose history can be directly traced back over 1200 years. Grandmaster Wonik Yi grew up in the Dae Yeon Sa (Great Achievement Temple) from age 5 until 19. During those 14 years, he was taught Buddhism, Philosophy, and a powerful martial art form that had no specific name.

In South Korea, military service is compulsory – so at age 19, Grandmaster left the temple to complete his civic duty. During his time there, he had the opportunity to showcase his powerful and effective martial arts and was eventually asked to develop a training system for the Special Forces under the command of General Chang Ki Oh. Taking the name of his unit, Tukong Moosul was born.

In 1982 Grandmaster Yi moved to Austin, Texas, and began teaching his blend of what he learned in the temple, and the training system he devised for the Special Forces.

  • '' A black belt is just a white belt who never quit '' - love that quote as always you keep surprising us. You even skipped a belt! thanks for take the tame an record your challenges you inspire all of us ❤ good luck un your upcomming belt test!!
  • Gaining one belt in 30 days, that is really impressive. It took me nearly six month to go up my first level when I started. IN my defence, I was seven.

In recent years, my passion for martial arts slowly died down, especially towards Karate, the martial art I currently practice. But after watching your video, my love for martial art is starting to spark again. Thanks for sharing your journey with us. You're truly an inspiration for all of us!
  • Congratulations on a double promotion! That’s a very rare thing to happen. I love this kinda content because I’ve been studying in the martial arts for over 15 years; it’s nice to see you embrace the art of Tukong. Keep up the great work!
  • @joel.pimentel
Where do I sign a petition to get you your own show? This was so good and really inspired me to keep learning and trying new things. Can't wait till the next one Kize

This is one of the most inspiring videos I've seen. Not just for martial arts, but for much more. Very glad you continue training months later. Love your videos. This is my favorite.
  • I teared up when she did basic form 2 , so graceful. Beautifully done.
  • @mdanam
This is the first of your videos I've come across. I've trained for a long time in many different martial arts, Chinese kung fu, taekwondo, Shotokan and have been around martial arts for most of my adult life. I am taking the time to comment because I was so impressed with your dedication and discipline and level of skill after only 30 days. Fabulous job young lady! I was most pleased to see the end of the video that you stuck with it. As your instructors told you this is a lifelong journey.(I have also never heard of this particular system or school but you seem to have lucked out by getting involved with what seems an excellent system and organization). I am really looking forward to your black belt video.(and it's not often I subscribe after only watching One video but you earned it!)
  • @GreedeeVids
As a fellow martial artist, knowing the time and effort and attention to detail I can say very very well done! I appreciate the Black Belts time they put in as well. You can tell they are very proud of their style and are willing to take the time to teach it correctly. Great job and the video and the double promotion!

Hi from a female Tang Soo Do Student! 👋🏻 ( It’s also known as Korean Karate & father to TKD 🥋) This brings back memories of my first white belt test 3 years ago! I’m currently a red belt 2 stripes/1st Gup & preparing for my black belt in the next 1-3 years, depending on how many pre tests it takes for me to be ready for my black belt test. It’s a long journey, but so worth it! Tang Soo Do is my sanity 3 days a week! Like you found and amazing bunch of people, I’ve found my crew of supportive, kind, and people that PUSH you when it gets hard because THEY HAVE BEEN THERE AND GET IT! Keep going girl! It’s a journey that will give you more than you could ever imagine! ❤️ Bowing in respect to another female warrior! 🥋❤️
  • @pjamestx
This was SO GOOD! I got goose bumps at the end! This one seemed 10x harder than any other challenge you've gone through so far, and not only that but you had to present to a panel of judges too 😅 Well done, and I'm glad to hear you're sticking with it!
  • I started taekwondo last Wednesday and couldn’t believe how happy I was when I did that first class. I’m anxious and scared of my future but I know God got my back. Watching you just hyped me up for my next class. Amazing video 🔥🔥
  • @Arco888
This video is really underrated considering you've clearly put so much work and effort into it. Great going Kize!
  • You’re amazing!!!!!!!!! I LOVE how you are keeping with Tukong and advancing! Can’t wait to see how far you go!
  • Having studied Taekwon-do I was really proud of this young lady. She brought back memories I still cherish now. All the best!ko mop sum nee di!

Hi Kize! I'm a Karate Blue Belt and i can say that with your Tukong experience you also have learned even parts of other martial arts aswell, of course Tukong shares similarities with Taekwondo etc, i find interesting that Tukong and Karate have similar punches like the way you put your other hand next your waist, and many kicks are similar also with some blocks, the weapons in Tukong are also similar to Kobudo like the Nunchuks and the staff or the Bo in Kobudo
  • @alalessia
Gonna admit I was a bit intimidated by the video length but then it just pulled me in. It was impressive and touching, I'm glad you've found such a great keeper! Best wishes on the continued journey (and next test! 화이팅~), it really shows that everyone was having fun with you around.
  • @akailana3587
This video is extremely well done and the amount of effort put not only in the content itself but the editing as well is incredible. I really enjoyed watching this and hope to see more videos like this come from you in the future. :)
  • This is the first of your videos I have seen and it is so incredibly impressive: your attitude, your existing and improved-upon skills, the supportive environment of Tukong. I really enjoyed this. I feel like a lot of youtubers do superficial "I tried X for 30 days" videos but it's obvious how much dedication and respect you went into this with. Really inspiring.
