I used this song as inspiration for a scene in my book, this big, dark and broody guy that has seen so much death, meets this young girl in a beautiful forest, that reminds him of his childhood, the child shows him the beauty of the woods, and slowly the 2 bond, the girl becomes the mans world, and he treats her like his own daughter, as she has none, in my mind the song is like a mixture of the 2, on one hand it is beautiful, with the guitar(or whatever, idk the instrument) playing and the woman vocalzing, and then things getting louder, showing a hint of the warrior, the 2 were boumd by fate, and without her the warrior would never know what love feels like, it may not be romantical love, but he loved her, and she loved him, and that's where his whole life changed.

The most interesting thing about fate is how inescapable it is. I spent nearly a century figuring out how to remove myself from it's weave. However, despite the fact no threads bind me, I'm still held by them. You came before me in this fashion, to attempt to kill me. Were you fated to do so? Are you fated to die at my unbound hands? Or are you fated to triumph over what the fates see as nothing? Or perhaps you truly are fated to die elsewhere, and the Norns have to pull some ridiculous stunt to save you? I am quite curious to see.

This song brings to mind a last stand of a viking warrior, like the one at stamford bridge. A warrior who has met the end of their story, and are not going quietly. A glorious last stand, to cement their name into histories annals. The final words of a chapter of a saga, before it continues to the next generation.
