All Gideon knows is that the Emperor and Darth Vader (who literally had a whole death cult around him from stormtroopers) were on the most powerful battle station ever constructed with an impenetrable planetary defense shield, Luke walked onto that station, and then Luke was the only one to escape before the entire fucking station exploded. Yeah, no shit he's scared.

It is in this scene that we all realized the true potential of Luke being “The Jedi”. For me, it was like seeing an old friend after 30 plus years of being away.

THIS is what this scene should have been. I understand the desire to have an original score for a series, to give it its own identity. However, when bringing back a character as iconic as Luke Skywalker, I believe it makes more sense to also bring back the equally iconic music associated with that character. Not for the whole show, but rather just for this moment.

You can see how ridiculously powerful he was at this point. Luke didn't need to exert any more physical strength than he had to in order to dispatch of them.

While he's fighting in this entire scene, you cannot see his eyes. Long ago, on a little tin can called the Millennium Falcon, an old Jedi Master once told him "Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them. Reach out with your feelings." It seems he took that lesson to heart and honed it to the point where he became one of the deadliest Jedi to ever wield a lightsaber.
