This won’t be easy, but the time has come to move on to bigger, better and much more expensive things. I can’t believe how lucky I was to have a rent stabilized nyc apartment. It saved us tons of money, and Ill miss it.

  • I've said it once and I'll say it again. Even the SLIGHTEST amount of outdoor space changes your world. I would never rent a space without outdoor space again

Oh Cash, you are such a hard working man! I don't know how you do it, you've kept up the 6 videos a week shooting schedule & were packing up to move at the same time PLUS doing your job. Hats off to you ,much respect. Love the new place, especially the trees outside the windows. I hope you will all be very happy there.❤
  • Your new place is fire. Your daughter is very lucky to have parents like you and your wife. People that don't live in NYC have no idea the sacrifice you guys made to give up a rent stabilized apartment for your daughter's schooling. That's what love is. Blessings to you and your family 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️!

Love your new place! I would go through some of your things and see what you could get rid of. Having lots of stuff makes living in small places difficult and also makes moving suck. Do it every Spring. It makes the place feel a lot bigger and lighter!
  • Concerning the water pressure coming from your shower head: Remove the shower head, then remove the small screen that is inside the connecting tube. That is a water saver screen and reduces your water pressure to half. Once removed, your shower head will have the proper flow. Congrats on the new place
  • Imagine the view when the leaves fall! Congratulations on your new adventure. Blessings to you and your family.

Congrats on the move! A view, a balcony, trees outside your window, updated appliances, a great neighborhood, ... that's awesome! And so happy for you that you got your move sponsored! Your hard work pays off. :) Next sponsor should be Mari Kondo, once you get out of all of those boxes, to get you guys organized and zen in your new place. This is exciting!!!
  • Retired a couple of years ago and I am now downsizing big time! Soon I will be moving from my house to an apartment. I am now purging, purging, purging. Moving is always an adventure. Boxing things up and getting professional movers is the way to go. You will be settled in in no time. Best wishes for a great new beginning.
  • One interesting thing that you can do when you move is leave the boxes unopened and then see how many you need to open to get something out of it. If after 6 months you still have a bucket load of unopened boxes then you have too much stuff.

It is so adorable how Violet clinging to her Daddy!

A key to a less stress move is to photograph (in your case vlog) each box, number it and make a list of contents. Then put a colored sticker denoting the room the box came from (each room has it's own color) so they can easily be distributed at the new place. By checking your list you can store boxes away that aren't needed right away and empty at leisure. Congrats on the move.

New place looks great! The cost jump from a rent stabilized place to one with a dishwasher, two bathrooms, and in-unit washer/dryer must've been steep!
  • @AA_8184_1
Moving is never fun! Thanks for documenting this. Look forward to tour ongoing adventures!

Welcome to Park Slope! You guys will love it here.
  • @idellekell
I love moving because it gives me a chance to streamline my stuff! I could've gotten those 62 boxes down to 40 for you, easy. Less clutter just makes a person feel calm.
  • @VeeLondon1449
I know moving home is very stressful but it’ll get better by the day 🙏🏽 promise. I’m so happy and excited for you and your family. You all have a really lovely apartment. Take care x
  • As someone who just sold her home of 20 years this January and has moved into my father's home(going from 1500 sq feet to 400 sq feet of personal space ) , you will be unpacking boxes for longer than days!! I've still got 6 that I'm finishing up on. Also, I run a storage facility and watch people waste $$$ storing stuff they don't use, will never use again , etc . Moves are a great opportunity to purge stuff you don't need. I'll bet your wife is thrilled to have the washing machine and dishwasher. I like the layout of this place better than the previous one. It looks like a charming place and can't wait to see it once it's all set up!! Good luck!!!

62 boxes!!! That's crazy! As a almost lifelong New Yorker, the moving experiencing is almost always rough when doing it alone without professional movers. I first moved into Astoria back in early 2001. Since then, moved at least 5 or 6 times with a family. It was rough. I wish you the best in your new digs in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Astoria will miss you! My last move was with some great professional movers, finally. We had no more than maybe 40 boxes, lol. Granted, we used some obscenely large boxes that allowed for clothes to be hanged within them. I've truly enjoyed your videos on YouTube that last couple of years. Hopefully, I can work with you on my next potential move (wherever that may be in NYC)! Please make sure you get the rice cooker out of the boxes first. It's a staple for those family meals.
