Before running install MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable !!!
Just place files from the package inside Omikron main folder. Run from Omikron-AtiFixLoader.exe.
This fix really worked for my ATi HD5650M on Win 7!!!
I'm not another dumb a**hole to infect your computer or take your time! I just want to people could play this great title!
I'm not an author and don't know how it's working - i just found it implemented in some unlegit Omikron build and took the files responsible for fix. Author for me is unknown.

Oh, for some reason it stopped working when I started the game a third time. Then I copied all files from your description into the game folder again and then it worked again. ^^ ?! (By the way, I have an ATI Radeon HD 4850.) THANKS SO MUCH for the fix!! This is absolutely awesome! Now I can finally play my favourite game of all time on my newest PC! :) :) YOU RULE!!! :)

This patch completely gets rid of the pixel bugging. But I got into a fight and the framerate drops down to like 2 fps on normal res. The characteristics in the sneak is even more laggy than other menus. I'm not an expert but I hope that one reads this to see what we need to do to get the game working properly. This game was epic back in the day and I'd like to play again for nostalgic purposes etc without having to get a new video card. It seems like you're so close with this ati fix. Cheers.

this fix worked for me in my PC with windows 7 x64 on a Phenom 2 X6 1090T and a Geforce GTX 570, i don't have lag on the sneak anymore!! thanks!!

This should be called a "compromise", not a "fix". A "fix" does not cause problems, it only solves them. This is an unreasonable compromise that allows like 60% playability - playing a game requires 100% playability. If the fights and shooting do not work, yet are required to complete the game, then this cannot be justly labeled as a "fix". Give the maker anything but my compliments.

Aside from the fight / shooting sequences lag (which is manageable by dropping the resolution and overall quality down really low), I also discovered that if you enable anti-aliasing in AMD's Catalyst Control Center that the old Z-Buffer issues re-appear. The only workaround for this is to use Morphological Filtering if you want to smooth out the edges.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I remember how i played thise game when it comed out. I had Celeron 300A and Voodoo2. It was unplayable but i manged it. Now i can play it again, one of the best games ever made (System Shock 2 is better :) ). THANK YOU again!

Confiming it works on my HD5700 on Windows 7. Havn't got to combat yet but I noticed the sneak menu is also very laggy. It's a shame you don't know who came up with this fix.

You're right. Haven't tried to fight before but it get's really slow during fight :/ I think that's because of this health bars somehow. It's playable but on lower resolution with a bit of slowdowns. I don't think that there is possibility to find any other fixes :/

I really wouldn't expect answer from this guy. I'm not even sure if he is really responsible for the fix but you can give a try. I already installed it on my old PC with decent nvidia and now can play full hd without a problem :) But I'm pretty curious if you are possible to find this guy and maybe solve the issue. Wish you luck with this, post some comments when you'll find out anything.

I've recently checked Omikron on nVidia 8600 GT on my second laptop. Of course there are no z-buffer problems, however even nVidia has problems during shoot-outs. During, fps drops to about 5-6 and the mouse becomes very laggy. I have to do another check on PC with nV9800GX2 and check out what will happen on full hd.

So do the fighting and shooting sequences really WORK when you drop the resolution and quality to the lowest possible? Is it playable?

Everything is ok, it works for me too, but I have some problems in combat mode when I have to fight: game lag like hell and become very slowly and it's impossible to play!
