This feels like me. I keep getting knocked down ( literally a few times) , tragedies , suicides, deaths, comas, family demolished. Now my cat ran away. I bawled my eyes out last night over this very tug of war inside myself. Total confirmation. I realized or rather felt for the first time how down and unsupportive of myself I am because that was all I was ever shown.
