Finally building a PC? Watch this first...

I just built my first modern PC. My dad has been building and programming for 40 years and i recently lost him. One of the things we wanted to do together was build one again together since his brain wasnt what it used to be. So i started watching you and some others to get back up to speed from when i was a teenager. Sadly, i lost him before we got to do that, so after i packed up his house i decided to go straight to microcenter for my first time. This was my first ever full build including selecting and buying my own choice of hardware. I think the thing came out absolutely beautiful. I did research for about a year and a half and got it to post on my first try. Im really proud of this build, and I could not have done it without your videos, and a few other influencers. I wish my dad was here to see it. He would have loved all of the lights and nonsense... haha god he was so old school. Ty for everything that you do. Im still learning how to set this thing up for max performance. This thing is an absolute BEAST of a machine.

"New stuff coming out is not gonna make your PC suddenly stop working. All that's changed is the ceiling." That's hella comfortable. It really is comforting to see because all you see are people just getting the baddest and greatest of builds. For us midrange, or even budget gamers, we just want a PC that runs on decent FPS on older games because we never had the time or the hardware to play with them before.

After 2 years of waiting out the pandemic, so glad that I’m finally going to build my first ever PC this October. Was a long wait but finally feels worth it.

$2,000 has always been a great range for a complete new build, including all accessories and one screen.

I've been a life long "behind the power curve" builder/user, always getting 1 to 2 generation older parts new and below MSRP. This has undoubtedly saved me a good amount of sanity over the last few years and I am grateful for it.

I pride myself in prolonging tech for as long as I can before upgrading. That also makes it feel massive whenever an upgrade is done.

Man, i've always been a pc guy, but last gen i've chosen to go console, now almost 8 years later i'm back to pc and building a new machine, your channel has been refreshing to me and brought me back the joy of learning about hardware again, thank you and! Peace!

Just followed your advice. Super happy with my 5000 build in 2022. $1500 went so much further than I thought it would.

Might I add one more point... The benefit of buying last gen platform - all kinks have been ironed out by the time the new stuff comes out. I am sure that ZEN4 platform will have bugs that would take at least a few months to resolve, while ZEN3 is relatively bug free now. So, if you need a stable system, go for last gen.

I just built my first ever pc for about 1850 Canadian tax in. I7 and 4060, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd, 4tb hdd. Really happy.

Just now upgrading from a 2000 series to a 5000 series

This is exactly what I needed , I was nervous as I’m a first builder / pc owner and was very confused and kinda lost but with this I’m confident to get my budget build 😊 thank you ♥️

Honestly so pleased we have Jay in the computer/gaming/build world, everything in media or gaming worlds is always pushing the premise of "You need these high end products to stay relevant" the newer builders definitely need the insight of good products within a budget and not think their dreams are unatttainable based on cost factor even for someone who doesnt game, i have an interest in computers and slowly trying to upgrade what i have for the photography business ive been running for the last 12 months, i still have to do most of my editing on a laptop cause of budget. so this outlook of you dont need the very best is pleasing to see for the upcoming generation
