6 years ago, there was a Turkish guy whose name is Burak Guven passed away sadly from brain tumor. He was the biggest MGS fan probably in whole world. He loved MGS so much, as his last wish, he wanted his wife to write his tombstone SOLID SNAKE under his name. Many people made fun of his wife and himself even after his death which made his wife to delete his post. As a Turkish fan, we would like Konami to add something to new game to make him unforgettable. Hopefully our wish would be heard from Konami. We may put his wife's and his little child's face some smile

I used to play Metal Gear when I was 88 years old. Now I'm 19, still a classic

Burak Güven was big fan of MGS series, every player in MGS Turkish community respects him. We lost him in 2017. And we want a big favor from KONAMI: please add him in the game so he can smile us from heaven.Even his tombstone says "snake eater"

This was perfectly placed in the showcase. My attention was starting to dwindle and all of a sudden an old friend peeks out from the trees.

Hello Konami, I don't know if you heard it already but as a MGS fan I would like to announce you there was a big fan of MGS that he even wrote Snake's name on his tombstone. His name was Burak Güven, we want to add literally anything about him to the game. If you ok with that we are going to be so happy, we are waiting. o7

This was the game that defined my 90s. As a 114 year old man, I'm very excited to relive the experience.

Always loved how the game got it’s own theme songs like a James Bond movie

MGS 3 Snake Eater was probably the most detailed game ever played as a kid. it was RDR2 level back when it came out

Think about a man that wishes '''Solid Snake'' to be written in his tombstone and think about a wife that makes his passed husband's wish come true. Now we all want to think about a company that gives this man what he deserves, gives him a place in their next game . That way he shall be remembered forever. RIP- BURAK GUVEN-

As someone who grew up with the original trilogy, this made me tear up.

I can't believe it's almost been 20 years. That's like 1/3 of a lifetime. I still remember it like yesterday... getting MGS3 as a birthday gift, getting my friend hooked, borrowing it to him, and not seeing him again for a week or so. Then getting stuck at "The Sorrow" and figuring it out together. Those were the days. Of course highly subjective with great games like Gran Turismo 4, GTA's and so on, but this is the best PS2 game there is and will ever be, IMO. Can't believe i'll experience it once again on another console. I really didn't believe it would happen.

I don't know what is more anxiety inducing and terrifying here....the fact that they either aren't telling us who is developing this, or the idea that Konami could actually be trying to do this internally. I'm all for remaking these games, but when you're dealing with masterpieces, you had better have a team up to the task of handling them with the care and respect they deserve. Still crossing my fingers that we get a surprise announcement that it's actually Bluepoint working on this. Edit: Looks like this is going to be multiplatform, which rules out Bluepoint as a studio working on this due to them being under Sony now. Other recent news and statements from Konami just refer to "the development team", with no mention of a director, lead artist, producer, or any other staff. As far as I am aware, the only full development teams still active under Konami are the Bemani teams, with possibly a few others working with outside help on titles such a YuGiOh, so until we hear otherwise, I would assume this is primarily outsourced with perhaps some internal oversight. They did announce the original cast would be "returning", but did not specify if this would mean new recordings by the original cast or simply reusing the original audio. Not exactly the most trust inspiring developments so far, but we'll see where this goes.
