  • everyone always says "keep watching over durin's sons", but no one ever says "keep watching over durin"

I loved Durin was honest about it all. He didn't make it about something else. We too often make it about it something else. Get made about the trash or not doing the dishes or so many other things. It is so important that Durin said it hurt him that his friend wasn't there for the important things in his life. You're not going to solve the problem if you don't say what is really wrong.
  • Dwarven honesty is the best. I loved the dynamic, loved Durin. I do hope we get to see way more of Disa, she's awesome! ...That being said, thank you for bringing the gorgeous Dwarf-woman-beard styling that Amazon so unwisely missed! 😂😌✨ Brilliant idea!

Hahahahaha! Georgia! SO VERY Clever to use your OWN hair to portray a beard! LOVE the noises that you use to communicate express...discontent...at the whole "Congratulations!" approach! SO animated you are! Vocally as well! SO expressive! (I'll corrupt you into acting yet! = ) Truth be told, I have an...epic-ally...long list of people who ONLY connect with me when they find a use for me. When they need something. It ceased to surprise me long ago, and I don't waste time getting angry about it. Generally...I simply help them as quickly as possible just so I can get rid of them as soon as possible..

This was my favorite part of the first 2 episodes I've seen. Durin was believable as a character, and his issue with feeling slighted was relatable, but also Elrond's obliviousness to what he'd done wrong was equally relatable. It's all too common in relationships that one is hurt and non-communicative while the other is blissfully unaware there's even an issue until they're met with a confusing, inexplicable mix of aggressive and combative behavior. This scene highlights the differences of these two races and the unintended friction that came simply from their different perspectives on time. It was really enjoyable to see how well Elrond handled understanding how he offended his friend and the willingness of the two to bridge the gap between them. Elrond didn't get defensive or make excuses. He asked his friend what he'd done wrong. He listened. He apologized. He tried to make amends while being respectful of his friend's wishes. He was patient and kind, and he was generous with compliments, congratulations, and praise. This could have gone a very different way if Elrond had been to proud to admit that at least from a dwarf's perspective, he had not been a very good friend over the last 20 years.

This was assessment of the scene. The beard is amazing. Your cosplays are so fun.
  • I watched this with my friends and we were all very empathetic towards Durin and annoyed with Elrond. Sure, we all have blind spots and with a lifespan that borders eternal, the elves are going to have some different thoughts about the milestones we all take for granted. What was galling though, was Elrond not dropping his veil of diplomacy and honestly relating with his friend. Durin was being very open and vulnerable while being very hurt, and it seemed like Elrond was still trying to work an angle. I would've loved to see a real heartfelt mea culpa from Elrond, but maybe elves just don't do that.

Great video! Talking about Galadriel's deep need to avenge her brother and all the layers of anger, sadness and duty that come with it would be another good topic.
  • @PredatorH2O
Elrond congratulated him first to show him he does value those moments he unfortunately missed. Also could have starded the video a bit earlier to point out Elrond's smart move of pretending to lose so he can soften Durin by feeding his pride instead of souring the reunion further by humiliating him.

Been watching your videos with my wife on shows we've watched and we are loving these. Enjoyed the arcane videos too. We usually don't keep up with being up to date on shows but we are on these and loving being able to not dodge spoilers and enjoy your videos.
  • Your hair looks amazing! Love the breakdown of Durin. I found his character really enjoyable and his conversation was very emotional and raw. Great job😁
