Hi, hello, Mr. Evil himself here First, huge thanks for covering the mod, and a shout out to Lionmeow for helping with assets and Myster for testing the thing! Now for some developer remarks: The moments the mod has you play through other than the starting house and the tower summit were chosen because they commented on Nikos cat-like appearance in vanilla I decided to not skip the starting house I felt like there had to be SOME gameplay, even if very familiar, to make the last bit all that more impactful when you can no longer do the things you're so used to repeating. The tower summit isn't skipped because it'd be awkward to conclude a loop with just a skip, and to signify that with every loop Niko is altered. The mod only goes through the same world because at the end of the day it's just a short creepypasta we created in like a week for Halloween. That is also a reason why the aforementioned moments are the only ones you go through, because I am NOT changing the entire game just for this gimmick, nor would anyone sane want to go through the entire game just for that. The entire segment is repeated thrice before the conclusion because I had to include the freeware Niko sprite with the human ears, as it was what inspired the whole thing. But if you pay attention to the dialogue you'll notice that it's a state where Niko isn't completely sure that's how things always were, being a sort of phase where Nikos memories are slowly changing. It also helped amplify the impact of what I mentioned earlier, where you don't repeat the things you were so used to by now. So what was it all for? Just realizing a sad/spooky idea I had. I'm happy with how it came out, and do so enjoy when people express the emotions I hoped to evoke once they're done with it. Aight, see ya all next Fading Memory update, peace! ✌

Man this haunts me I'm not sure how long it's going to haunt me but it makes me want to fully learn how to code just so I can make this longer like the like each one is the entire game and also add more runs mostly because most because I want to give this a good ending so it won't haunt me any longer. Because man this is like someone stabbing me in the back with a knife that's made of electricity and sadness.

The name of the mod makes sense. Like how a caterpillar uses metamorphosis to become a butterfly, this mod shows Niko starting off as a human and slowly becoming a cat.

So this mod essentially boils down to. What if OneShot was more like Off? All it's missing is a big reveal that you were turning these kids into cats as resupply for space monkies or something like that.

Ok but here me out… Oneshot but reversed. You play as niko with a god giving you suggestions, and you wake up in a world of light trying to plunge it into darkness to escape.

As cool as this mod is, the only con truly is the triple-repeat that you have to go through. Anyway, Human Niko mod when?

I honestly want to say this mod is... stupid? And unrealistic. My main issue with this is the mod completely forgets that all of OneShot is fated to happen and that The World Machine is sentient. It would literally never let Niko be stuck as a cat in sorrow because its goal was always to make sure Niko goes home. Not to mention both The Author and Player step in as the reasons this is even possible. I really dislike how this mod just ignores how OneShot as a whole functions.

I know this was made to be just a creepypasta, but it could be a better mod, no offense. Like, imagine the adventures of cat niko, that in reality isn't really Niko that wants to stop the loop while having the limitations of a cat and fighting against the World's Machine messing their progress. That'd be cool, I could try to do it if my pc hadn't explode 3 years ago, bummer.
