  • "Please depart." Catches wrist "You are labouring under the assumption that that was a request."
  • @Th3Sh1n1gam1
Something I always forget because of how sluggish he moves is that Isaac is physically one of the strongest members in the crew.
  • @CordeliaDoyle
For someone who is incapable of emotions, he sure is protective over the children (Topa, Marcus, Ty) in this show lol
  • I think my favorite part of this is that Isaac was almost certainly not trying to be mean or hurtful. He was simply stating facts. It's something that we see time and time again in sci-fi but it never seems to get old.

Seeing Isaac here makes me think how idiotic their Makers were. Had they treated the Kaylons with respect, they would've had a loyal partner by their side.
  • @Superdeath25
Who would've thought an emotionless robot could deliver an excellent "The reason you suck speech"

A lot of people, in the show and in the audience, project a lot of emotion onto Isaac. I always found it more powerful if he truly doesn't have emotion, and he is not broken for that. This scene is a good example: Klyden seems to be looking for something in Isaac, but he finds nothing. Not anger, or contempt, or disgust, or disappointment. He is unflinching.

The slight side-step Isaac takes at 1:06 - a small motion that spoke volumes about protecting Topa. I love his character!

The cold, Impassionate stare Issac gives Klyden is extra chilling, knowing Issac could have easily deployed his cranial blasters to defend Topa… not that Isaac would, but the functionality is still there…
  • What i love abot this scene is the lack of noises. There is no dramatic background music e.g. when Klyden enters the room. Just having the noises of the med room, their steps or the pressure of Isaacs grip on Klyden made this scene way more real for me. I loved the whole Topa-Storyline and the step the Orville took with its 3rd season was incredible.

Calling your kid an abomination is a hard thing to walk back from.
  • @Hitchpster
Brilliant acting, the actor who performs as Klyden kicks it out of the park every time, Isaac’s actor is a master of body language and the girl who plays Topa made me cry, and I don’t cry easily. WHERE IS THE SEAOSN FOUR DARN IT!!

Season 3 of the Orville transformed from being a comedy sci-fi to a show that discusses the issues of our time just as TOS discusses the issues of the 60's.
  • @DuchessChau
Issac slayed. Completely acted like the dad that Topa needed in this moment.
  • @Nick-vs5jx
The fact that Isaac is the one doing the argument is even better because EVERYTHING he says is fact checked millions of times in his head. So EVERYthing in this conversation he said is FACT.
  • Isaac is more than a match for any Moclan. Or most anyone else - except perhaps for Selayans or Alara Kitan.
  • @jonasgrant
'You know who has feelings? Doctors who come home and bludgeon their wife to death with their golf trophy. Professionals have standards." Isaac clearly has very strong standards.

0:05 - 0:36 Mark Jackson has an excellent job projecting Data's voice and mannerisms into Isaac. I can imagine Data saying the same thing to a menacing Klingon or another hostile alien in TNG
  • @jerandel6910
I will always believe that Isaac really does have emotions. He just expressed them in his own way. He's clearly demonstrated anger, annoyance, regret, sadness, love and affection. It's just since he's so different that nobody can recognize them. I mean that scene in the simulator where he gets the ability to express emotions for a bit, those things he said were all things he legitimately believes.
  • @a3s1r1986
He might not have emotions but Isaac is really damn good at going all Papa Bear for the younger characters on the show.
