The maximum is 26, even on One Two Tree. The VTSG makes it so that you can't have another TSG. The VTSG only provides its own buff and doesn't provide the other sun buffs, so the best you can do is the TSG with max support or a VTSG and a Sun Temple with support. I don't know how Ethan got all 3 buffs, but the best you can do is a TSG on One Two Tree.

surely then most would be a sun avatar that was once a dart monkey (using cape), as you can get the adora buff as well as the tp path village buff (if you play on the right update)

I feel like the middle path boomerang is highly underrated. With top cross-path, you'll crush normal bloons, but still do decently against MOAB class. With bottom cross-path, you'll wreck MOAB class bloons without sacrificing much regular bloon popping ability. It's about as close to a monkey with with no weaknesses as you'll find in BTD6, especially with bottom cross-path. You'll be hard pressed to find a more balanced tower that can fit into any defense than a 0-5-2 boomer.
