  • Companies like gym shark have lot to be held accountable for, as they seem to exclusively hire people who use steroids, but deny it publicly. This is setting unrealistic body expectations in the eyes of young people.

Ive been training naturally for 20 years. Ive lost count of the number of juicers ive seen inflate and deflate as they cycle on and off before eventually retiring from the gym and steroids due to health issues. Social media and unethical practices in the fitness industry have made the situation so much worse.

Very interesting video. I'm a pharmacy technician and I'd like to add something. In order to prepare solutions that are going to be injected into the body, it's crucial to have sterile lab conditions. The dealer in the video used a microfilter with a vacuum pump to get rid of impurities, which I supose is much more than other dealers do, but the materials used and the environment weren't sterile. For the liquid to be completely safe, he would need a laminar flow cabinet with some kind of UV irradiation to kill all the microorganism present (Sorry for my English, it's not my main language)

The coach who mentioned body dysmorphia was really hitting the nail on the head, even though that clip was just a few seconds. Everyday people who are just getting bigger for the sake of "looking good" need help. Like people who get plastic surgery because they think they dont look good enough.

mad respect to john for being so brutally honest

When a dealer is telling young people not to take steriods, that's all need to know on how truly dangerous it is.

That’s why I’m proud to be a lifetime natural weightlifter been training for 20 years consistently.
  • @ROSSNEWHAM
I’ve been training consistently since my teens, I’m 36 now. Still making great progress albeit slowly and enjoying gym as much as ever. I’ve seen so many steroid users come and go. Massive peaks and troughs, psychological issues and training inconsistency based on cycles. Im yet to meet a lifetime natural that regrets not taking gear, but you’ll find plenty of washed up steroid users that regret it.

Love how honest those guys were. I really enjoyed this video, but would love to see one about female steroid users some day.

I was in school with Tom. Great guy. Has always been genuine and honest. He was always nice even to us less popular kids. Great documentary bro 👍

Great video. It’s always great to see the grey area of medicine and what happens outside of big pharmaceutical companies
  • @Julia-xz7vb
thank you for making this. Very informative for young people thinking about starting on this path.

this was a great video, well done Vice. This is important for the people in todays social media era where it's easy to get caught up in comparisons and body image issues. I hope all teens and young adults interested in the gym find this video and and stay informed.
  • Generally haven’t enjoyed Vice as much the last few years but this was a great piece.
  • @notchasmouey66
Great documentary & about time! The mad thing is people are so secretive about it even though it’s so obvious who’s taking it! People talk more openly about how much recreational drugs they take than they do steroids!
