  • mashallah brother, fish n chips are now halal
  • I feel like CK3 has a hidden setting that increases the amount of pop ups you don't care about when it detects you trying to micromanage troops at 5x speed.
  • The fact that he didn't make a Bedouin-Welsh Hybrid kills my soul a tad, probably doesn't help that I have a preference for always creating at least one new culture per game as a rule unless I start as Culture head anyway lmao.
  • the idea of 11th century muslims conquering Cardiff and using it as a power base to launch a jihad of the UK is hilarious to me
  • 30:33 - again, just to make sure you don't miss this, this is a feature of pluralist holy wars, which keeps all vassals of the previous title, unless they have lands outside the captured title. For example, in this case, if the duke of Mercia had lands in Brittany, you would seize his lands in mercia and leave him in Brittany, IIRC anyway. You only seize all lands when doing a holy war as a Righteous or Fundamentalist Faith.

36:22 your muslim faith in particular (Muwalladism) is a pluralist faith. Pluralist religions dont "revoke" the titles after the holy war, they vassalize the rulers in the target area. Basically it turns the holy war into a subjugation war, in a way, but instead of prestige you use piety for it. If you want to actual get the titles you need to be of a "righteous" faith. Another difference from pluralist to righteous is that if you have a vassal from a faith yours considers evil, with righteous faith you can revoke the title with that as a reason, without tyranny, while pluralists dont, which kinda goes along with getting the title vs vassalizing after a holy war. And this is also a reason why you had to fight tyranny wars for revoking titles of your chriistian vassals. If you were from a righteous faith, that wouldnt have happen. In this case your faith, Muwalladism, is pluralist, but, for example, the biggest muslim faith is Ash'arism which is righteous. And with christian faiths, Catholicism and Orthodoxy are righteous, Coptic and Muzarabism are pluralists (using the biggest christian faiths as an example) When doing a lot of conquests in a region with different "evil" faiths, it might be worth checking these particular things about your faith, to see if it is better to convert. If you are trying to get along with other faiths (for example going the concilliation path in the struggle for Iberia) a pluralist religion, like Muwalladism if you ara muslim or Muzarabic if your are christian, would be a better option since it cuts in half the "different faith" penalty and vassals of different faith are less likely to join factions. But if you want to dominate them, then a faith like Ash'arims or catholicism is better because you can take over everything, Obviously, if you go for the RP side, that is a different case, what i said is purely for the bonus you get (or reduced penalties) that can help for a "min-max" campaign. Also another thing, you have access to "Conquer" CB. This means you dont need to waste gold on claim. You can use only prestige to declare war and do a "Conquer Duchy CB". Having this CB depends on religion as well (im not sure if certain cultures also have it independent of religion tho), so might also be worth paying attention to that before throwing gold left and right for something you dont need.
  • 28:32 because you are a muwalladi character muwalladi has pluralist so you should have chosen a ash'ari character but still good video keep it up
  • Defender advantage is actually tied to fortresses which you control, not just your territory. Outside of baronies with controlled castles the army which was there first is the defender. At least I am 90 % sure that was how things were.
  • Try an Indian character taking over Scandinavia as payback for those Viking India memes, even if you have to make a custom character to start in striking distance
  • I did this once, but as a Kimek nomad. Probably the best and most interesting game of CK3 I have ever played.
  • @ohNojames
Got some courage playing on speed 5 in your position. They are sieging everything, understatement of the century. Never won a crusade for England. I have to convert when I start as Norse.
  • Man, I watch all of your videos and I feel that a lot of time, when something does not go as planned in your game, except for pure RNG, it is because you're playing at max speed. Here the glass building is the perfect example. If you were taking it down a notch, there wouldn't have been any issue building it. You still manage to get the upper hand, which is impressive and enjoyable! But I really feel that you're making your life harder just by playing at that speed. Anyway, thank you for the content!
  • @Zehamas
Hrm... Looks like i gotta subscribe. Hopefully we hit that goal soon! Love the content you have! I've been watching your videos for the past several hours now haha. :) +Love and likes from canada
  • 26:58 - it depends who controls the holding. If you run into them in an empty mountain barony in any land, you are attacker. If you have a castle in those mountains that they are sieging, you walk into them ,* they are the attacker, think of it as similar to Eu4 in that regard. That's why the AI will always prefer to break sieges and run to unoccupied hills or mountains nearby, PDX actually made the AI decent at this. And again, going back to the idea of controlling, the effect would be the same if you sieged and took over someone else's mountain fort, it would be the same as a mountain fort in your land controlled by you, and if the enemy took a mountain fort in your land, it would be the same as if they owned it. (Hence the distinction between own and control for things like achievements and decisions)
  • Hey Im working on doing this on stream as a stretch goal for my current campaign while I try to force the struggle into an end state after becoming victim to my own success in conquering the peninsula and avenging the battle of tours.
  • If you capture an heir unlanded demand conversion and then when they inherit you have holy war allies the war score is a short term boon but the true boon is how you can manipulate the realms around you
