FRRESH: Family Recovery Resource Expo and Symposium

On Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Family Recovery Resource Expo and Symposium in Houston over 500 professionals, clients, students, individuals and family members gathered to hear about the latest in wellness and recovery.
About the speaker: Joseph A. Vargas Ph.D.
1979: Graduate of American College of Natural Healing Sciences CA Naturopathic College Branch of Loma Linda Medical School, California: Ph.D. in Nutrition, with an undergraduate in Humanistic Psychology, and Physical Therapy.
In 1979 to present: Joseph A. Vargas P.T., Ph.D., R.E.S. was the Dean and Chief instructor at the University for Research into the Natural Sciences from 1979 thru 1986. He founded what was originally named "Wholistic Health Center", currently called "Absolute Health Center" the premier Wholistic Health, Fitness and Wellness Center in Houston offering Comprehensive Personalized Nutrition and Wellness Evaluation and Program designs coupled with their Pilates Training and Exercise (Absolute Pilates in the Heights).
2002 Rehabilitative Exercise Specialty Training at the Baylor Sports Medicine Institute with additional R.E.S. training at University of St. Thomas.
2003 Completed and successfully passed the written and practical exam for R.E.S. (Rehabilitative Exercise Specialist) and received certification from the American College of Integrative Medicine Moody Health Center and Professional Fitness Instructors Training School at Baylor College of Medicine.
2010 - Became certified as a Smart Recovery facilitator for SmartRecovery.org. and has been volunteering as a facilitator on Monday nights at what is now called "The Council on Recovery" until retiring as Psycho-Educator at 2019.
2015 - Founder of the “Trauma Release, Recovery, Research Enrichment And Training Center” (T.R.E.A.T.), as well as, “Friends of ACA”, in Houston.
