First day of reign for Frederik X and Mary of Denmark

Frederik X of Denmark and Queen Mary have starred in their first official act as king and queen. The new monarch participated in a reception at the Danish Parliament, where he was supported by the royal family, including Queen Margrethe. The Danish Royal Family arrived at the Danish Parliament, occupying one of the boxes.

When a woman is more powerful than her Crown, she passed the Crown while she is alive. I wish I can meet the Queen Margrethe in person to express my admiration. Again, Denmark is very lucky to have her as a Queen the past 5 decades.

I am really happy for King Frederick & Queen Mary! They will do Denmark proud! But my heart did break for Queen Margarethe yesterday when she signed over the monarchy & abdicated! Seeing her so emotional broke my heart!

I think its wonderful that the former Queen can see her son in the roll of King. What a great thing for the monarchy. Lets face it, people live much longer now. Maybe passing the roll on is the way to go. I felt it must have been so difficult for King Charles to get on with duty the moment his mother died.

It felt so strange to see Queen Margrethe standing outside and waiting for her son’s car to arrive . I’m going to miss seeing her as the reigning Queen .

I saw the irony here when Queen Margarethe is the one waiting for his son who's the new king, not like before when his son, just a crown prince before, waiting for her. Great to see Prince Joaquim attended his brother's proclamation as king. Queen Mary looks elegant in her blue dress. Queen Margarethe will be remembered in world history being the last female monarch that abdicates the Danish throne in favor of her son. Long Live the Danish Royal Family...

She will always be there for a guiding hand and giving her son the support that he needs to navigate through his new journey. He has a really good resource when he has difficulty and she can enjoy just being a grandma
