Today I'm testing an Ealry rush strategy for Japan that was suggested by a viewer. We'll be going after France and then become the Puppet Master.
Rules:
- Play as Japan
- Start with an attack on France
- Make puppets
- Ironman
What did I do wrong, what did I do right? What should my next challenge be, if any. Let me know in the comments.

I’d like to see a Bittersteel crossover with Taureor. The two “adults” of the hoi4 content creator community banding together to do something amazing.
  • Historians still document and study the intense battles in the Swiss Alps by Japanese troops coming from their satellite state in Occitania which they got by landing in Pas de Calais from Wilhelmshaven in Germany, splitting the French Empire into a billion countries. HOI4 is such a crazy game
  • @zantac180
I can only imagine how confused the German population would be to see all these Japanese troops just kinda hanging around

I am an elected member of my hometown's city council in my hometown in Norway, and I LOVE the political part of the game. I love politics so much that I paid a Norwegian modder to make me Prime Minister of Norway, so that I can play myself in 1936 This is the best 5 € I have ever spent!
  • Taureor, "How am I doing?". He looks at a bunch of red bubbles. "Well enough"
  • Love puppet only style gameplay, and especially with a new longest episode!
  • This video is like the best sleep aid ever. I don't mean this in a bad way. It is totally interesting to watch but the calm and somewhat monotonous voice is soothing. If it only wasn't for the loud adds...
  • Simultaneously being at war with Turkey, Latvia, Yemen and Afghanistan sounds very weird when taken out of context.

What about an optimized puppetmaster run? One where you use optimized puppets (max size with their own cores) instead of maximized number of puppets? (So no breaking up France and UK's core territories, but releasing things like Egypt et al with large numbers of their own cores.)
  • Watching Taureor's naval invasions always raises my blood pressure
  • Just taking a moment to appreciate that your new longest video only stretches from the first start date to the second start date and you accomplished all of this essentially before ww2 ever began

Honey, come here, 2 hours of my favourite ASMR have just dropped! Who am I kidding, I've got 1.4k hours in HOI4, so I've got no GF. The ASMR is still wonderful though!

Hey, love the video so far! Just heard your supply part and wanted to state (although you didn't seem to have too much of a problem) that: I usually ctrl click supply hubs where they fit and shift+ctrl click one central naval dockyard and shift+ctrl click railways, because if big or late game, all other buildings don't matter that much anymore and it's build faster as one thinks. Railways last, because they're cheap and more useful.
  • Absolutely loving these long videos dont be afraid to put a few more ads we love supporting you! Would love more fascist gameplay!
  • @919Loki
"Supply is not good" 4 min later "I know I'm staking to much units here, but is does not really matter". Oh boy, it matters alot :) love your videos!
  • @YeetaIta
Now I do not have a single clue about what's going on in this game but the video was still very entertaining to listen to, excellent job!

Try like a mix of these for those who love good maps, like some puppets where it would make sense such as France but annex Brittany for the strategic value? Or annex the coast of China but puppet the rest? Annex all islands as Japan does? I don’t know, just a thought
