African population and economy rising in tandem

Africa’s population has risen roughly six fold since 1960 from 283 million people to 1 billion 350 million people in 2020. Africa’s economy is now larger than South America’s as measured by PPP (purchasing power parity), which is astonishing and points to potential future trends.
