This is probably my all time favorite Bible story. Ever since I heard it in children’s church when I was like 6 or 7, it’s always amazed me. And I’m now 17. Though they sugarcoated it all they left out was the fact that David actually used goliath’s sword and cut his head off.

No....this story tells that you can do anything if God is on your side doesn't matter how old, young, wish, fool, strong, weak, etc.....if God is happy in you and on your side you are unstoppable.

David met Goliath with more confidence in God than what was portrayed here. He had already killed a bear and a lion as a shepherd

The sling is a heavily underrated tool and weapon. It’s scary how effective it is as a weapon, both for a shepherd to use against wild animals to protect his sheep, and for a man to neutralize another man.

When I read this part I remember Goliath not being challenged straight away, but waiting a few days, and David picking up pebbles the morning before the fight. Also, after he shot him in the head, David proceeded to behead Goliath for all the soldiers to see with a sword.
