  • I used to play The Legend of Zelda alot and had a similar group that chatted about the game. However one day we all playfully said we really were from Hyrule and that we’d never deny our Link like heritage in real life no matter how old we were. I’m still friends with a few of those guys.

The manji is a good luck symbol that actually predates even Buddhism by over a thousand years. The Nazi's appropriated the symbol and turned it on it's edge, but most people don't know the difference.

@1:44 “we’re 99 rupees away from having a full wallet/94 away from the blue ring” Me: oh you’re a math guy @7:00 confirmed as you tutored math lol

2:59 - 3:48 - I used to call those overworld guys the Quebert-like creatures, since their funny sucker like noses resembled Quebert's, which was another game I liked back in the 1980s

You explanation of why 256 is the highest number represented in 8-bit is the most concise I've ever heard. It was super intriguing and I generally don't have much interest in math.
  • I really like these videos! You came up on my suggested and I love the nostalgia. One suggestion I have is making the titles easier to recognize as being part of a series. It was hard for me to figure out where part 2 and 3 were originally!

New subscriber. Thanks so much for this series. I played the hell out of this game as a kid, but never could beat it. Kept getting lost and giving up, only to come back a month later to start a new save state 😂

Man, I still remember spending every day of the summer of '86 at a friend's house, graph paper covering the back wall, going screen by screen marking off every secret and its contents. We got started on the dungeons too, but ran out of time. Some random trivia: According to the Nintendo Power player's guide for LoZ, there were supposed to be two 100 Rupee caves in Overworld 1, and two in Overworld 2, but the official release of the game, something got glitched, so there are 3 100 Rupee caves in Overworld 1, and only one in Overworld 2. The cave behind the tree one screen north of the heart container near the Southeast corner was intended for Overworld 2.

These guides are amazing! The first video is the first I've watched of the channel. I'm playing on a NES classic as well. Anyway long story short. I had the game when 24yrs ago. And I never beat it. So thanks for supplying the help. 😁

I agree. I thought that I had a bad math teacher, or so I sat down and spoke the him and I learned.
  • @CoelJulwell16
I'm playing this game right now (gameplay in my channel) and all my stuff is weak, and I couldn't get the magic boomerang, so thanks for showing me how to get better stuff. Thanks!

Almost every room in the far right column in level 2 can be connected with bombs so it can be fully explored and save keys while collecting and exploring

I go all the way NE, get the 100 secret up there, grab the note, and the heart containers, as well as the sword. As I’m going, I grab the 10&30 secrets as well, and get the blue ring before I even go in dungeon 1. Then, I breeze through dungeons 1-4, and the. Go get the last 2 overworld heart containers, then you can get the magic sword and power bracelet to open the warp area, that’s important, because 1 drops you right by a fairy pond, one close to level 5, one close to level 6, and the last down on money row, as mentioned in the first video.
