And where did medical students and doctors get bodies to dissect in 1788? They stole ‘em from the cemetery, silly. Today, Bailey tells the wild story of the 1788 Doctors’ Riots.

i asked my history teacher today if we were learning about the triangle shirtwaist factory fire cause it was in our book and he said i was the first student to know what that is before they learned it and i was thinking well we can thank bailey for telling me what it is ❤️

We still use cadavers in medical school however now, before any dissection takes place, a memorial service is held to honor the person who donated their body so that we can continue to learn. And the bodies are VERY respected during the dissection process.

I was thinking now as a black woman “Jesus, imagine being black back in those days”. 100 years from now I wonder if another black person will say “imagine being black in 2021”. Progress is a interesting word.

My boyfriend is sick right now and finding it hard to sleep. He likes background noise to fall asleep. 2 minutes into this podcast he started snoring, I turned it off around 12 minutes in thinking he was totally asleep. He woke up to protest because he likes your voice 😂 Usually watch you for my own enjoyment but I guess he's converted too!

Fun fact, dead bodies are actually heavier because you no longer have the ability to distribute weight. That's where they get the phrase dead weight from.
