The Art of the House of Hanover | Sweet Histortea

Publicado 2024-02-02
Today, I showcase the art of the House of Hanover, one of Britain’s most famous dynasties throughout their history. From semi-humble origins in Germany to ruling over the globe, the Hanoverians helped shape Britain and her history.

This video was inspired by a series of documentaries the historian Lucy Worsley did on the various George's and Queen Victoria. I hope you enjoy! ♥

The way the artists painted the fabric is marvellous. There is no art like that anymore today.

    1) Felt my blood starting to boil as King George the III inevitably approached, lol. 2) The fashion they used for toddlers is fascinating! 3) I can appreciate how the cuts became more overtly modern over time. Love the video. Like a casual walk through a room in a museum.

King George I was one of the WORST characters in English history. He treated his wife terribly and did not care for his new country.

To be perfectly candid, the Hanoverians don't exactly give me the warm & fuzzies - that's probably just an American reaction - but it's nice to know some of them were cute little tots before they grew up to be drunks, lunatics and wastrels... Good video; you chose some nice portraits. 😊😊
