22 years later, this still gives me a shiver in my spine when he hits the imperial march.

That imperial march section is what mixing tournaments should be about and is what's missing a lot these days. Hyping the crowd with this kind of musical creativity is a lost art, and not enough DJs today play to the crowd, they sacrifice musicality for technical chops.

What I love is the sportsmanship of the other dude. Like, legit props there, that's the face of a guy who knows he's beat and just wants to enjoy the show.

"Now witness the power of this fully armed and operational turntable."
  • @whatfreedom7
I came here after a guy played the imperial March on a coffee stirrer.

this is fucking incredible to watch. At that split second even the man he was against knew he had won. You don't see scratching like this anymore. Perfection.

The force is strong with this one! ✋😌

You know you've won the battle when 16 years later people are still watching your routine and no one remembers the name of the guy you battled or what he did.

I love how he looks at the other dude RIGHT before the drop. He’s got his eyebrows raised like, “You’re about to see some serious shit!”
  • @MrBlaine1234
One of the most iconic moments in scratch DJ history
  • @dennis_duran
Kuddos to the other guy for being respectful observant and encouraging.

That first track is Disturbance in the Force by Phoenix Orion produced by DJ Hive. It covers Star Wars Episodes 1-3. He also released another track called Jedi Mastery on his debut album that covers episodes 4-6.

Still come back to this over the years and enjoy it just as much each time. Fantastic use of Buck 65 - Centaur

Out of the dozens of times I've watched this, I never noticed the "always two there are, a master and an apprentice" soundbyte..nice foreshadowing!
  • As soon as that guy realized the mix and knew he was beat,he stood there stoically and accepted it. I imagine afterwards that they shook hands and walked away having a laugh at the fun they both had. My hat is off to the competition for just enjoying the whole performance. And as for Scratch Bastid. ....wow. Incredible.
  • Seeing this years back on Scribble Jam blew my mind, still does till this day! Absolute classic mate!
