Poor Steven Hilenberg. It’s honestly a shame what they’ve done to his show.
  • @AzureRoxe
There will never be anything funnier than when a company makes an episode about overmilking something being bad, only for them to do it themselves.
  • @DrHusk-ko7yu
Rule #17 of cartoons: If a family-family cartoon gets really really popular, there’s gonna be another show but with babies.
  • @diandremosley
If any character could've made a spinoff work It would be Sandy... Have it take place with her family in Texas this makes a distinctive world with unique characters & can have new stories that can be told
  • @BlazeRBXonYT
To be honest SpongeBob making the formula also clearly contradicts the episode "Friend or Foe?" (still an episode vaguely a part of original SpongeBob, shown to the public in 2007) where Plankton and Krabs canonically been friends prior to their rivalry as kids, which began with them MAKING THE FORMULA. Krabs and Plankton both discover the secret formula together (naming it the "Plab Patty" as a spin on their names) and then when they fought on it, thus ripping the original recipe in half, both of them go their separate ways providing a different conclusion to how the delectable dish would be made, aka inventing the chum burger and the krabby patty since one went with homemade ingredients while the other went to science. That completely gets contradicted with BOTH krabs and plankton learning that SpongeBob made the first krabby patty recipe in Kamp Koral... either way that spinoff series is the death of the original canon.

Wow. So even the directors knew that Stephen wouldn’t want Kamp Koral to happen, yet they had to do it anyway. That’s just sad.
  • @mechajay3358
SpongeBob was specifically not created for a "spin-offverse." It just leads to so much confusion and complications for a simpler show about the adventures of a seas sponge. This is why Hillenburg was not on board with the idea.
  • Remember that one episode where Mr. Krabs decided to turn the entire restaurant into one big Spongebob theme, including the Krabby Patties? Years have passed since that episode first aired, and Nickelodeon still didn't get the satire.
  • “When you run out of ideas, you just do Muppet Babies.” “You know, one of these days, they’re going to want to make Spongebob Babies That’s when I’m out of here.” Holy shit I never realized this aged really really well
  • @FlaxGalax_FG
They really ruined the Spongebob canon lore by making it more baby like and removing all of the worth of the older episodes, and made Sandy a time traveler and making Gary met Spongebob in camp coral rather than the pound? Wow their bad at story writing. They can't even keep themselves from changing Stephen's actual story and perfectly organized stories. The supposed parents for Patrick ruined the theorist community. It sucks. They ruined Squidward with cartoony expressions and making him grumpy but more on the child like side. And hoe did squidward turn into Handsomeward if it was because of Spongebob's passion and positive or somewhat like that...with a door slam?! Yeah no the community knows more about the Spongebob lore instead of the newest owners for Spongebob. I miss the more depressing yet funny episodes. I miss squidward being bad yet kind to Spongebob because of guilt. Man this sucks.
  • @lennypayne4241
I have a funny theory about the broken canon with Patrick’s parents. His real parents are the ones that have been around since the beginning of the main show. However, because Patrick is such an idiot, he constantly mistakes Cecil and Bunny from The Patrick Star Show as his parents and spends long periods of time with them and in turn, they also mistake him for their son. This is easy to believe considering how in the original episode where Patrick’s real parents debuted, he spent the whole episode with a completely different set of starfish and didn’t realize they weren’t his parents until they said their names. Those starfish also didn’t remember they didn’t have a son until then, so this kind of thing is pretty common in the starfish community. It would be funny if they did an episode about this in The Patrick Star Show, where Patrick and his fake family realize this mistake and Patrick goes back to live with his real parents again, only for them to forget again at the end of the episode or something.

A reminder that the one continuty I will always point out is Spongebob being AFRAID OF ICECUBES and stepping around some in the new Salty Spitoon episode. Clearly there is a continuity if character growth HAPPENS. If a character can become afraid of something and REMEMBER it, there is a continuity.
  • @MonkeyMan-uz8zk
This is one case where it would make sense if it was dream, because these new SpongeBob shows have been a nightmare
  • @YAMA_Vidz
This is a cinematic masterpiece. My favorite part was when Alpha Jay Show said “It’s Spongversing time” and proceeded to Spongverse all over Nickelodeon.
  • @Doodle128
The Sandy thing is called a bootstrap paradox, she does it because she already did in the past, at the moment of that loop being created there was no longer a point where she realised she needed to preserve it, only that she knew she had to (possibly because of the threat of not doing it and being literally erased from time itself).
  • @MrJomalley123
Miguel O'Hara looking at this be like "This is not a canon event, this is just bullshit"
  • @samuelhofer7099
I think the issue is as time has gone on we've started to get fans of the original series to physically work on the show, and they don't like the middle seasons, like many fans, so they use the excuse "well, we don't see canon as a thing we have to follow exactly" so they don't have to have the tone of the show fit with those middle seasons. This also explains why the last few seasons have just been reference, reference, reference, as again, these people grew up as fans. And as fans that saw this as a massive inspiration (clearly), they seemingly don't understand why the best episodes, scenes, and jokes are the best, just that people really like them. So you got this awkward situation where they don't want to emulate the middle seasons, and want to do callbacks to the older seasons, but have a vastly different way of approaching every aspect of making a cartoon, so the show feels disjointed as of late.

Nickelodeon: “The children? I don't care about the children. I just care about their parents money.” 🤑
