Drinker's Chasers - Rings of Power Season 2: No Men Allowed

Published 2022-12-17
So apparently Amazon was proud to announce that The Rings of Power Season 2 will only be hiring female directors for every episode. What could possibly go wrong?

  • Everyone to the Hobbit film trilogy: "Perhaps we treated you too harshly."
  • "But episode 3 is going to be so much better." "There are huge reveals in episode 5!" "The finale will be mind-blowing!" "You can still watch all of season 1!" "Ok, season 2 will be so much better!!!" Press X to NOPE
  • No men allowed plus, in a brave and stunning twist, no fans either. 😅
  • @justin_b.
If this actually goes the full 5 seasons I will be absolutely shocked!

Critical Drinker: "Do you seriously believe your own hype that much?" Rings Of Power: "There is a hype in ME !"

it's a sign of how out of touch Hollywood is when they run a story to tell us the gender of the people making a show.
  • This just screams self inflicted shotgun wound. Why is it Hollywood can't see people are getting sick of the horrible treatment of tv series, great games, movies, comics and books.
  • Critical Drinker: "Do you seriously believe your own hype that much?" Rings of Power: "I AM THE HYPE!!!"
  • A friend of mine works at Amazon. They have diversity meetings and employees get promotions based on volunteer hours and being on committees rather than their actual work. So yeah this is very on brand for them.

20 years ago it was "I didn't get the job because I'm a woman." Now it's headline news that "I got the job not for any experience, but because I'm a woman."
  • To put this in perspective, I'm pretty sure most people would say Sauron (both the Peter Jackson version and Tolkien's character overall) was better represented in Death Battle than in a series that was supposed to take the character seriously, and was written by a team of professional writers with all the resources they could ever need.

"No men allowed"..........presumably that means viewers too. I have absolutely no problem with that - more than happy to oblige 😁

Word round the Shire is that Jennifer Lawrence will rewrite, star, direct and produce the remainder of TROP. This means that it will be the first fantasy series made into film to have not only a woman, but THE WOMAN at the helm. We can all rejoice now, knowing that everything will be fixed.
  • Thats okay, I wasnt watching the show anyway. Listening to reviews of this show is like hearing about a party that went bad, and being thankful that you chose to stay home instead.

The most expensive failure ever got a 2nd season? Stunning and brave!
  • It's OK to have no men allowed but if this was reversed, the people doing it would be demonized.
  • Mauler brings up a very good point. With all the shit that has been turned out from Hollywood it has now gotten to the point where everyone’s thoughts are the same when it comes to new films and T.V. shows. “It’s going to suck so why bother watching”. This is the unfortunate side effect that the studios have brought upon themselves.

The Rings of Power is the reason why Tom Bombadil was absent from the Peter Jackson Films. He saw that shitshow, and decided to withdraw into a forest full of monster trees, just to be sure nobody would ever come and tell him what happened next.
