Where many animated shows follow in the footsteps of inspiration, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends did the opposite. The best Foster's Home For Imaginary friends epsiodes all share one thing in common, masterful characters. Whether it was Blood, Wilt or Cheese, every character in the show mattered and contributed. Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends might have done one thing better than any other show of that era.

Who was your favorite Foster’s character?

I like how Eduardo’s kid grew up to be a police officer. She made him to protect her, but he was actually a lesson to her that she has the power to protect not only herself, but others.
  • I just remember the episode where Bloo was like “what’s sarcasm?” and everyone went “what do you mean what’s sarcasm you use it ALL THE TIME”

It’s weird cause I don’t remember the plot that good but I remember all the characters

Also never forget, Eduardo being bad at fighting taught his creator how to stand up for herself and fight, and when we see her as an adult she's in law enforcement! So they learned from each other and it clearly helped shape her direction in life

6:44 Eduardo had one of the most well-written backstories in the show. He was imagined to protect a small girl in a bad neighborhood from bullies, but, being imaginary, there wasn't anything he could actually do. However, the girl, unable to stand up for herself, is finally able to fight back on her own because she wants to protect her imaginary friend. So, even though he was imaginary and couldn't fight for her, he still gave her the strength to fight for herself.

The "It's hot in Topeka" line was the biggest meme at my middle school before we even knew what memes were. That's how impactful it was

i remember they had an online game where you could customize your own imaginary friend i was obsessed with

To this day, I still quote "It's hot in Topeka." Sometimes without even realizing it came from Foster's. This show did something right.

Cheese will forever be engrained into my memory

This hurt my heart. I miss this show and I didn't even realize that I did

I appreciated the idea the show puts forward that some of the imaginary friends are replacements or stand ins for what people need to grow. Wilt was created to help teach & hone basketball skills. His mild manner would imply that he won't yell at you for making a mistake, but instead gently teach you what you did wrong. Heck, even Bloo, he's a Mac's baby blanket that Mac gave up to keep his brother from teasing him about it. Mac still needed/wanted his blanket, so he created a new one. But now his new security blanket can talk! And is able to voice all the witty comebacks he'd love to say!

“You’re interupting my 24 hrs of beauty sleep” Bloo: might wanna shoot for 25!
  • @Deathmageddon
I still quote “it’s hot in Topeka.” Great show.

Imagine from an “adult perspective” it’s just an old lady and her granddaughter living in a large home with a young boy visiting them all the time without no imaginary friends

Craig McCracken wasn't just the creator of these shows, he was the creator of my childhood. I am forever grateful.
