In this video, we review the Crye Precision JPC 2.0, Crye Precision AVS, Crye Precision SPC, Spiritus Systems LV-119, Ferro Concepts FCPC V5, Agilite K19, and Velocity Systems SCARAB LT plate carriers. We also share comparison data on the Qore Performance IcePlate EXOยฎ Ultralight Ventilated Plate Carrier.

Plate carriers are one of the most important kit decisions we can make when it comes to preparation for armed combat, but with so many plate carriers on the market today, how do you know which one is right for you and your application?

Until now, there has been almost no empirical data collection on plate carriers with most purchasing decisions driven by subjective opinions and hype trends rather than hard facts. Our INSIGHTS technical plate carrier review series aims to change that. Enjoy!

Video Format Notes
These videos started as a way for us to answer frequently asked customer questions about how to integrate our IceAge Ecosystem of performance enhancing thermoregulation and hydration tools with leading plate carriers on the market. As we started answering more and increasingly detailed questions, customers started to ask us for our opinions on their plate carrier selections. In an effort to remove any bias we might have, our format attempts to be as empirical as possible We avoid sharing anything that is subjective, qualitative, conjecture, or opinion. Instead, we stick to facts and science to provide you with the information you need to be the greatest version of yourself.

Holy smokes as an Engineer I was not expecting this level of thoroughness from a Gun/Gear youtube channel. Super impressed with your guys content. Well done and thank you!
  • @viero13
I'd love to see a review like this include ruck compatability and load bearing comfort. Keep up the great work guys.

Love my k19. Work in south Tx where itโ€™s hot. The little extra weight is in the built in padding which some of the others have none. That little bit makes it a lot more comfortable when youโ€™re wearing it for a long time.
  • I bought an agilite k-zero a few months back, super light super mobile, itโ€™s a smaller system so it doesnโ€™t give as much protection but it is so comfortable and the added mobility and speed I get with this system is very important to me, for me personally I expect to be using it when Iโ€™m evading and moving through the woods and trying to keep my load light while still having some protection. It also breathes very well.

This was a very high quality video. Amazing job!

I've run my scarab through years of abuse. Ntc rotations. Deployments. Schools. Tactical games. You name it. I've had it since 2018 and it's still holding up.

I haven't used many different carriers, but one I have owned and used for about 7 years now is the JPC 2.0. At this point I would take that over any hot new thing. It's simple and it has worked great. If the lv119 ever comes out in small though, I'd buy one of those. Spiritus systems is a great company.

Iโ€™d like to have seen load carriage as one of the parametersโ€”not only how much it can hold, but how well it can hold it. Ruck compatibility, too.

Awesome video and discussion!! I noticed on your "Materials" chart on your link that the 500D cordura row was accidentally left blank? Enjoyed reading all the info and watching this video!

I have a Direct Action Splitfire MKII and I absolutely love it๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I bought the LBT Modular Plate carrier on sale at Optics Planet a few months ago. Itโ€™s got to be the most comfortable plate carrier Iโ€™ve tried yet. Feels super durable and sits perfect with full Lvl. 4 plates.
  • @chezbooga
If love to see some European brands in the mix. Particularly Direct Action and their Spitfire MKII. Thanks for the great video!
  • @future_phonk
I think the music can be toned down a bit between transitions. It goes from calm analysis to loud EDM a lot. Other than that, great review.

An interesting review would be the LBT 6094 G3, especially in contrast to the classic LBT 6094 if you've got one laying around
  • @alpolo007
I was issued a T3 Geronimo 2, Iโ€™ve really liked it so far. Might buy a JPC 1.0 for something a little lighter/cooler, but the G2 has been great.
  • @334erty
HRT RAC is working for me so far. No issues. I would like to know how it stacks up for wet weight and thermal?
  • @ElMachoMucho
Good job on talking about ethical buying at the end keep up the great work.
  • @kalebnolen1616
Defenitely looking to trade in my Defense Mechanisms MEPC for a Shaw Concepts ARC V2. Unfortunately it is not the greatest for comfort long wear. I hike with a ruck over it and the plates into my chest. Would be cool to see an ARC V2 in your evaluations.
  • @Killer_Space_2726-GCP
I have an Otte Gear, and I don't mind it. More within my budget, still made in the USA, fastest and best shipping to Canada I have seen yet, and slick enough to be covert.
