STORY
Nearly 20 years ago, this charming cottage in the Swedish countryside was alive with the love and laughter of a family of three: Nanna, August, and their precious child. The memories they left behind still evoke a fairytale-like atmosphere, offering a glimpse into their idyllic life here. In a picturesque Swedish village, they lived a simple life. August was a hardworking and reliable man, employed at the local paper mill. Nana took care of their child and tended to their home. The house had been gifted to them by August's parents who built it in the early 1900s when the town consisted of only a few houses and theirs stood in isolation.
Their life was filled with routine and cherished moments of beauty until tragedy struck. Their beloved son was involved in a bicycle accident and despite spending countless days in the hospital fighting for his life, he ultimately passed away from his injuries.
The grief that overwhelmed Nanna and August was beyond comprehension, and it forever changed them. Following their final departure in 2003, there were no heirs to take over the property and it was left eerily quiet. The memories of a once beautiful but ultimately tragic life still lingers inside the walls of the home

This one made me cry. Watching your videos has made me start to get rid of my stuff. Things I don't need and don't want my Son to get stuck with every thing. Give things to people who would want them now not after my death. Thank you guys.

It breaks my heart to see some of these beautiful pieces and items left behind. The horse statues dog and other pieces. I hope someone can get them and give them a good home before they sink with the house

How so so sad, I know the experience on losing a child. I know the heart break 💔 to lose a child. 😢 I feel for them even if they are no longer here. God bless them. May god have mercy on their souls 😢. Good job boys.

Wonderful video as always! This was such a tragic and touching story, and it's always so surreal to see these places left behind with the memories still intact. Thanks for preserving history and telling these people's stories so they will never be forgotten.

The square hand made craft pieces ( in room adjacent to the bedroom) are called "needle point." This home had higher ceilings than many Swedish homes you have showcased.
  • Interesting fact; the item you call a press I have always known as a “mangler”. My grandma had one that was electric. She told me to stay clear of it when I was a child because it could take an arm off or worse. I was very afraid of it. Great exploration! Thank you again. Hugs.

So sad about their life story. Thank you for the tour and history about Sweden, that is where my Great Grandpa was born and I always like learning about Sweden.

Such a sad story, even more so after, that no one was left to take the home over or at least save some of the families memories. I just want to say thank you Leslie, and Danny of course, for letting us go with you to all of these beautiful abandoned places and giving us the stories of the families that lived in them. You tell their stories beautifully with honor and respect to them and are very respectful to the homes and that is wonderful, so thank you again.

😮It really caught my attention when you said the letter on the table was from Marysville, WA. That's less than 2 hours from where I live. To think you were looking at a letter from this area in an abandoned house in Sweden! So amazing! It so great that you found this home and took the effort to document it before it collapses. I can imagine the sadness that shrouded them after the loss of their only son. 😢 As always, thank you. 😊
  • Hello Lesley and Danny! Very decayed house. My niece Liz now is living with her husband Anthon and daughter Emilia in Boras Sweden and She is pregnant again with one little boy ❤😊
  • @kevinmichael2538
This is an inspiration for me, I'm also going to make videos of abandoned places
  • Just inside the door of the sitting room up stairs is a torn picture that appears to be mother and child, and to the left a folded image of the side of a man’s face like a family portrait
