  • When you said goodbye to the taxidermy dog, my heart melted. You have such immense respect for the dead, decay, every little creature. How gentle and respectful and lovely
  • Calm down everybody - the dog was preserved by taxidermy, it didnt just die there if it had done so it would just be a heap of bones by now.

1983 is the year i was born. There is no plastic here at all. So amazing, people used to live without something that we nowadays use it in nearly every aspects of life.

Whenever I look at all of those things, I want to clean them so badly :D

I found this so fascinating that I started to look a bit more into the owner of the house.. His name was Georges Weber, so the thing you said about them maybe being german is true, due to the german surname. Also there’s some kind of article I found online that’s preserved in some kind of historical library in Bavaria, Germany. He opened his pharmacy which specialised in homeopathy in 1835 in Paris. To this day it’s still a pharmacy and it’s still specialised in homeopathy. The address of the pharmacy was on that little bottle you showed in the beginning, even though you can’t read the end of it, with google you can find anything :)

I am passionate about how life and things looked like centuries ago. And u made it possible for me to see parts of that. And I'm so happy. I'm so addicted to ur videos. Keep it going!

Beautiful. I was sitting with my dog, next to the fireplace, watching your vlog. When you came into the room with the family dog, I cried. Love for our animals has never changed. Poor baby. The beds are beautifully crafted. So sad nobody can rescue the pieces of woodwork and glass from this home. God Bless the dog. My heart went out to the pet and his family. Thank you Lesley and William. May God keep you safe and healthy on your exploring. Greetings to your family for 2021.

This place is just incredible. Those bed frames (I'm guessing oak) are probably worth thousands nowadays as the high quality furniture like that is getting harder and harder to find.
  • Hi to both of you....from the USA ..I'm a great gramma and watch your video's and love them !!! I'm glad you slowed down taping.....thank you and keep up the great shows...♥️
  • The "cage mask" & the "little sword" with the blunt blade were both used for "fencing" (an old sport).

The wooden shoe insert was used to keep the shoe in shape after each wearing. In fact in some instances to enlarge brand new shoes a little to be able to wear them.

They stuffed the dog in memory of him, and all of a sudden their gone and left him...at least they could take him, i know he is not alive but the fact that they left him there, all alone, makes me sad 😔he have sad eyes....
  • @anders303
The benches in the fireplace is for drying firewood.
  • @piche50
oh my dear boy, those wooden things for shoes are not for shoe's to be made but to stretch new shoes called a "shoe Stretcher" absolutely love watching you .
  • @Capernicus19
I appreciate how respectful you are to the property and the previous owners. Thanks for the great effort you put into these videos
  • @mamabearof1877
Getting into the live late, so restarting, but the dog on the sofa is sooo sad. 😔😭 Poor baby. However I love your lives/videos. Thank you for helping pass time during the lock down.
  • That dog was purposely mounted to lay that way being done by a taxidermy. The owners could not stand to part with their beloved dog. That was really in style back in those days. The dog is all dusty and dried out now, but was quite beautiful when mounted.

Never seen light switches like that! That house is so old, it's amazing!
