Gumball Crafted The PERFECT Meta Rivalry

When I got the notification I immediately clicked on it

Rob went from being a forgotten background character to a main archenemy to Gumball for leaving him in The Void. All that because Gumball can't pronounce his name right.

The fact that Rob was truly forgotten that many didn't notice until his comeback. He was actually in Season 1

I find Rob to be legitimately one of the most unique and interest antagonists I've ever seen in any media. He's the kind of character that cannot exist in any other show, which is astounding. When I was watching this show while airing, I knew of him and I thought "When is this background character going to have an episode" and then he became the MAIN VILLAIN. That will forever hold a special place in my heart. The fact that I followed this character's journey and was almost a part of it.

I ABSOLUTELY love Gumball and the ways it's special from other shows, especially the charisma and fourth-wall-breaking

I love Gumball's lore, I love how some characters are aware that the world they are in isn't real. Plus the void is fucking scary but also really cool at the same time, I can't wait to see how the characters will save the world while it literally consumes it. Well if Warner actually grows a brain and decides to leave the gumball movie alone In conclusion Gumball's lore is badass

Gumball is the perfect mix of retro and modern comedy. It's one of the few things I point to when people think older fans can't enjoy new shows that kids like.

This rivalry is probably my favorite. It's so masterfully written.

They turned a nothing character like rob into one of my favourite characters ever.

These episodes are gorgeous: Exploit almost all character development made untill and does it acknowledge their cartoon nature incredibly.

I really think Rob is one if the best cartoon villains ever. He went to a background character that no one talked about then him getting some screen time in The Pony then he evolved into this character that just wants respect. I really hope in The Gumball movie and the new season Rob is in a major part of it

The way the creators develop their characters and creations is pretty insane and wonderful. Rob went from a minor background character to a villainous fan favorite and also becoming the first rivalry of Gumball, And Molly and Terry had more major roles and has more speaking lines and screen time than ever and the same goes to some of the each minor characters through the show. Ever since the void started to erupt, They made everyone kinda have a lot of more attention and personality in terms of this. Great video as always! Love the Character Developments in this show <3

What I always loved about "The Rerun" was that dramatic scene of Gumball screaming at Rob after he temporarily has Darwin (along with Anais) killed. It made me wish there were more serious episodes in the series that are well written and maybe not stories like "The Hero" and "The Inquisition."

darwin literally DYING in front of gumball who's unable to save him is genuinely disturbing to think about.

This episode still to this day gave me goosebumps just by seeing how rob literally made it work as a major threat to gumball after ruining his life at first. This is why rob in my opinion, is like the THANOS of the show but in a much controversial way, he reminds me of bill cypher from gravity falls when “( Reality is an illusion, and the universe is a hologram by gold )” this really makes me wonder if the next season will probably pick up after what happened when Rob fell into the Void or it’ll probably be different as a different time twist to be renewed

I don't think I've ever seen a show take a background character and turn them into a main character like how Gumball does it. I really want to know how the writers came up with this idea. Like was this planned or did it just happen? I also find it ironic how Rob is forgettable in the show, but is a character that every fan knows about and is able to remember

I love the fourth wall breaks that Gumball has they are some of the most creative I have ever seen in a cartoon

The use of the remote as a meta narrative was so well done.

Darwin regressing in The Rerun is terrifying, you see him literally die in front of Gumball's eyes due to what seemed to be suffocation, it's genuinely freaky.

Gumball has certainly come a long way, hasn’t it? Can’t wait to see what Ben and his crew have in store for season seven. So excited!
