  • I'm so glad they gave island flyover the love it deserves. but why wasn't there a mode WITH NO TIME LIMIT???? I would've paid so much for that mode

I can't believe you guys didn't mention this, but when you 100% island flyover you actually get your own private island that hosts your own little house with a flag displaying your Mii. It's these little touches of character and detail that keep this absolute masterpiece as one of my all time favorite games to this day.
  • Don't forget about the practice mode for canoeing!! Collecting the little ducklings and bringing them to their mom was my favorite part of this game.
  • @PanzerMan332
It's tragic that Wuhu Island didn't have a dedicated exploration mode where you just walk around on foot with no time limit.

sword fight showdown was the first parry mechanic that mattered in my lifetime, laid the foundation for everything to come

So nice of Tony to invite this stranger on the channel!

The fact that Switch Sports doesn't have a free roam mode to explore Spocco Square is one of the biggest crimes that Nintendo has ever committed.
  • Fun fact, my family got a Wii in the later years of its life, and it came with both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort disks included for free (and also the motion+ and jacket). So there definitely was a group that grew up with Resort as a pack in, even if that group isn't as large as those who had Wii Sports as their pack in exclusively.

RIP Matt, you were the best trainer the world has ever known.
  • Okay but WHY IS EVERYBODY SLEEPING ON WAKEBOARDING!!!! Having a nice cruise while trying to get the highest score possible while avoiding obstacles was such a vibe!

the serenity i felt flying that plane to look for landmarks is a feeling I have never been able to replicate
  • When you guys showed the opening to wii sports resort i legit cried. Tears were rolling down my face. I don't think i'll ever feel again what i felt that christmas back in 2009
  • @jakecraft4878
I grew up on Sports Resort rather than Sports. I had Sports as well, but Sports Resort was my life as a kid. Good to see this game getting more recognition :)

God this game was so good. Island flyover was just so relaxing, the game let you advance at your own pace and really celebrated your personal achievement. You always felt like you were getting better at whatever game you played and made sure to make you feel accomplished, no matter how little or big of a personal achievement you made

being a late 2000s kid was the best. i’ll never forget playing on the wii with friends and losing against my parents. wii sports resort will forever be my favorite game

Dude this takes me back to the greatest era of my life. The wii to me represented family, fun, and being myself with the people I love. Wii sports resort was a go to, and I rly wish I could get those days back again.

Dang I liked the part where the dog caught the frisbee and then he did a little flip. I thought it was just going to be boring like real life dog frisbee shows, but this, this was a master piece. This simple but effective communication tool brings out the depth of a childhood game. The frisbee and dog can be metaphors for a lot of things in life. Plus I liked the part where he does a flip after he catches it.

my favorite thing to do on wii sports resort (as in i loved it more than any of the Actual games/sports) was actually the practice for canoeing. there was a mother duck in the lake with a herd of ducklings and if you find her, all the babies swim away to different spots. you have to paddle around the lake and get all the lil duckies' attention so they follow you, and you bring them back to their mama 🥹 it was so fun i would just do that for like an hour at a time by myself (✨️only child things✨️) 😭
  • For a time I really I liked doing jet ski free roam because I found out you could find whales around in random areas. Often times u could see them breaching out of the water or a tail flip and I was determined to do my darnedest to get as close to one as possible when it did. Maybe the coolest part was the fact that the whale would still be there once you reached the spot you saw it, a massive figure swimming just under the surface of the water and your jet ski, always left little me in awe. It was such a neat detail.
