I've a chicken that is very close to my heart, she is clingy as well, but doesn't like to be held. She follows me everywhere, when I'm in the garden and talk to me a lot. I've never thought before, a bond like this can occur with a chicken, she is like my best friend. Since we've got her, I didn't eat chicken meat.

I had a small bantem rooster that I named Bird. He would lie on my chest and go to sleep while I petted him. He was awesome. RIP Bird and Pluma. ❤

Rest in peace, Pluma. ♥Seramas! ♥ (Mini chickens) They make great companions, Great house pets-even roosters, maybe even more so than a hen because they are protective and will crow if they see someone around the house that is not family. They snuggle with you. They can learn tricks and commands. Highly recommend!

Oh I know this special kind of love and relationship. I have it too and I'm sooo happy with it. I have it with Quails.... wild chicken birds. You now that you are doing right when a prey animal loves and trust you. Chicken birds are very social and are intelligent like crows. Their feelings are not because of food... You became the world for them.
