There is a girl who was in my class who graduated with me recently. She went blind after a car accident and is in a wheelchair. But she'd been practicing standing up again and she walked onstage to get her diploma too. I was really inspired by her determination and her patience onstage, even though her legs must've hurt. She'd been having a difficult time at school but she had a sense of humor that was unrivaled. I'm also blind and graduated with academic honors but I didn't suffer anything as severe as this. I was so proud to be her classmate in graduation. She had only started high school that year and was graduating with me so she could go to an adult transition program. I bet she's doing so well there.
  • He deserves every last cheer he got. So much of an inspiration to all of us.

The media call him a courageous victim. More like a courageous Survivor. A true legend.

“Thankful I got a lot of friends and family” at age 15 after being paralyzed in a senseless act. What a STRONG MAN

1st time that I am seeing this and it brought tears to my eyes. Congratulations Aaron for graduating and for not letting anything stop your dreams. Your parents and family and everyone that supported and helped you also deserve a very big Thank You.

I hope he has gotten even better in the past 7 years, and I hope he has had a good life since.
  • Prime example of how life can take a drastic turn literally overnight. Be humble folks nothing is promised.
  • Can’t believe someone could just shoot another like that, without actually knowing who they even are. Happy this boy made it and I pray for his recovery
