ANNOYING ENEMY PLAYERS WHILE THEY THINK THEY ARE SAFE | DCS OH-58 Kiowa Warrior

As a career OH-58D Kiowa Warrior pilot, I must say you fly the DCS KW like we did IRL. Well, not the crashing part, but the low level NOE flying. And yes, we did use our M4s frequently.

Back when I was in, my unit used to be a Kiowa unit right before I got there and changed to a shadow platform. Hearing stories about the pilots hanging out of the helicopter to shoot M4’s at dudes on rooftops were always awesome.

In Afcrapistan my infantry company had the biggest slap in the face by our commander. We had a dude shooting at us from a couple hundred meters away…an easy shot for most infantry guys. Instead of letting us shoot the dude he calls in the Kiowas, who weren’t even in the air yet. It takes them about 30mins to get to our position and then they come in shoot the dude with their M4’s. Couldn’t believe it. It was awesome to see, it just came at the expense of realizing our CO didn’t trust us to use our basic weapons.

The Kiowa, call sign Sheamus, Banshee and Longknife, got us out of a few jams in Kandahar. I love Yankee airpower. 🇨🇦🇨🇦

I can never seem to get up to speed like that. Also, my hand over from AI to pilot is always a disaster. Especially when transitioning from a AI hover.

just keep in mind, the new updates make helis that fly too low, visable due to the smoke/water/dust your rotors throw around. ive noticed anywhere between 20 to 50ft is optimal, below or above makes for easy pickings. thats worked for me with the apachy, no idea about the kiowa

Friend of mine asked me to teach him to fly on ARMA one night. Picked up went ripping out of the airfield and flew into a set of wires. Never played pilot on the computer again. Still fly every day but not on the computer

having worked s3/flops for an air cav unit that used exclusively oh-58's. i can tell you the pilots would absolutely be down to do shit like this lol.

devil...try delaying your stream for a few minutes then where you are currently in the game and see if that works against the stream snipers

This game would beat games like Arma if they brought in combined Land and Sea combat (controlling infantry, armour etc).

How do you pick up (see) those aircraft off in the distance? Is there a best setting to make them stand out more??
