I’m a 62 year old doll collector, and my eyes filled with water at your joy at seeing all these dolls. Thank you so very much for sharing. X

Back in 2000, our mom would only buy me and my sister two dolls each after much begging, but we had to read all that doll's books first. I got Kaya and Samantha, and my sis got Felicity and Josefina. Reading all the books was actually very fun and interesting. The amount of research they did was astounding, but also the themes they tackled for young girls to read and understand was eyeopening and an amazing way to teach history that young girls might not otherwise learn. Even after, I read the other historical girl dolls because the stories were just that great. We still have the dolls in good condition since our mom would emphasize taking care of them (they were expensive!).
  • I remember wanting Chrissa SO BAD. It was my favourite AG movie as a kid as I struggled with Bullying. I am so so so happy you donated the dolls to children who need a little spark🫶🏻

As a European, I knew nothing about these dolls, so this was a very adorable journey! Thank you for all your work Hope!

My mom used to work at an American Girl factory! Every year for Christmas they'd give their employees a big box of toys and books including the American girl doll of the year and the Holiday Barbie! I remember being so excited every time my mom would bring the box home. I'm getting so many good fuzzy feelings watching this video <3
  • I teared up❤ thank you for not only fulfilling our childhood dream but for your generous donation to the children’s hospital! People like you are the reason I believe in the good of humanity!❤

As a doll collector I was over here like “Omg. She’s opening them, what is she going to do with them!?” Then Hope says she’s donating them to a children’s hospital and instant tears. 😭❤️
  • I LOVE that you donated all of the dolls to your local children’s hospital! What a great way to donate and spread the love and wealth around the holiday season! Thank you! Makes me proud to be one of your subscribers

I ALWAYS wanted Samantha 😭 They were so expensive though!! Loved this video, absolutely nostalgic as heck 🥹

I really enjoyed this video as someone who grew up in the UK and first heard of American Girl through friends from the States. I'm currently also volunteering at a museum where we are currently doing an object handling session of different dolls around the world's, which includes Kaya. It was really cool to see how excited you got about her and the rest of them. I teared up at the end of the video too. God bless you for your lovely positive content ❤
  • I had Grace growing up. I got her from someone who donated the dolls to a children's hospital so this video means the world to me. I was 10 and had my first seizure, died twice, and had to stay in the hospital for a few days after my drug induced coma and they gave me Grace. So, seeing someone make a video about American girl dolls and donating the dolls to a children's hospital makes me happier than anything ever could. Thank you so much for doing this Hope!

I love how American Girl touches upon serious subjects such as Addy’s harsh life, including slavery, and Emily’s life, including her house getting bombed during the war. It’s very important to teach kids about the difficult times in history while including some fun and positive ones, such as Samantha being a wealthy orphan living with her grandmother and Cécile being born into a wealthy family, wanting to become an actress.

Omgosh I cried at the end!!! 😢You got your Kirsten doll....❤
  • The fact you took your favorite with you, and the shot of her on your lap, made me burst into tears!! Watching it was like soothing to my inner child. It hit so hard for me. I had Rebecca and a Truly Me and yearnedddd for so many in the early 2000s. This video was a childhood dream!
  • @ViolettaEcho
I actually cried so much when you kept Kirsten at the end. :') I've been waiting for this video all my life, haha, thank you for making my inner child happy!
  • @riabongo
You are living my childhood dream… Most of the American Girl Dolls I got were hand-me-downs, but for Christmas one year my mom got me the girl of the year Lanie— and I absolutely cherished her 😭

No way... as a 12 year old, I wrote a letter to AG asking them to make a Rapunzel doll as she was my favorite Disney Princess and I NEVER actually thought I'd see the day this was true!! I am so disappointed I didn't know about the launch until just now, but it's satisfying in a way!
