  • They could not understand how that he had so much talent. He could read and write at FOUR years old. He could speak THREE languages, but they interviewed him as though he was STUPID. His body language showed he was annoyed at the questions!! 110 MILLION DOLLARS...... for one of his paintings. RIP

You beautiful beautiful man. I hope you rest in power, in paradise, in peace. You deserved BETTER. Ugh it pains me.
  • The way he reacts to the racist question by that interviewer is gold Interviewer: "you're thought of as some kind of primal Expressionism" Basquiat: "primal? Like an ape 😂"
  • @lonnieac3
This young gifted man went through hell dealing with "certain people"!!
  • It breaks my heart just even hearing that he went through this Is not fair cuz we're still going through this even today he didn't have to go through that I love this man and I never even met him...đŸ˜„â€ïž
  • Never learned about this man in any of the schools I went to. What an amazing man!
  • People always like art but not the artist ,its common for artists to be misunderstood by the common working drone
  • @inmyroom3485
just learnt about this man last night, how have i never heard of him before ?!
  • He saw right through all the stupid racism. And yet he was trapped by the preconceptions, bias, and onslaught of the army of morons who didn't get him or refused to see him clearly. He was, and is, an equal to all the previous artistic giants who we all know. Say his name. Jean-Michel Basquiat!

He seems like a good dude but i grew up with some graffiti heads and from what i can see his art is not very impressive. I do understand the gallery art world and Graffiti are to very different spectrums of art..That's just from another artist pov.. BUT, who he was, and to be a young black male in a world full of White liberals who try to take him in but yet at the same time are racist is a story in itself. He even says it in the video that they care more about who he is instead of his art, somewhat similar to Eminem being so famous in a black culture bc of his skill but also largely in part bc he's white. I think alot of Poc are in an abusive relationship with the Dems. Not that the other side is so much better either.
