I have searched the Ghost in Shell game for over 10 years after I played it at a friends house. I never knew the game's name. I'm so glad I watched this video. Thank you very much.

This console was, and is still amazing. I still own my original Playstation with a few games (like Twisted Metal 2, Driver, Metal Gear Solid, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, 2Xtreme, Spyro The Dragon, and Crash Bandicoot Warped just to name a few). This made me a fan of Playstation from the moment I got my hands on a controller. I have so many memories with this console, and still to this day recommend the console if you want a good (sadly, now) classic gaming system.

You should cover games and series' like Jet Moto, Resident Evil, Road Rash, Tekken, Tomb Raider, Twisted Metal, Vigilante 8, Wipeout, and Um Jammer Lammy.

This and the SNES hold top spots as my favorite consoles. So damn many good titles on the PS1 though it's mind melting sometimes. From Resident Evil to Castlevania SotN to Final Fantasy 7 and so on. Good stuff....good stuff indeed
  • love to wake up and find a new game sack upload! makes for a great show to watch while i eat breakfast :)

I was maybe 8 or 9 when I first got a Playstation for Christmas....... my ma says I stayed up in my room glued to the screen for 8 solid hours..... ahhh memories...... good memories....

Man, watching this makes me realize how much my Playstation collection is lacking. But for all the great games the PS1 had, one of the best parts about the Playstation was the boot screen. SO GOOD!

While this doesn't apply to certain aspects of life, as a gamer I feel lucky to have been born when I was. I started out on the Atari. I was around for the 8-bit and 16-bit generations. I also got to see the evolution of 3D games and it was incredibly exciting. The leap from the 16-bit to 32-bit generation was absolutely mind blowing. The 90s was such an exciting time for gaming. The transition from the fifth to the sixth console generation was again a huge leap in fidelity and refinement. While the XBOX 360 and PS3 brought HD graphics to console gaming, it didn't have the same impact. We are now at the point of diminishing returns and unless something changes the face of gaming entirely, there will never be leaps forward like we saw with earlier console generations and that makes me incredibly sad.

The first Playstation is my favourite console up till today. You can just have unlimited fun with the many awesome old titles that it's incredible. To mention few which weren't mentioned: Rayman, Akuji, Gex, Legend of Kartia (never heard anybody talkin bout it), DoDonpachi (my fav shmup), Discworld, Fear Effect 2, Medievil... way too many to count.
  • 1:30 I love Nintendo, but Sony kinda smashed them on this one. I mean Nintendo came out with their analog controller and the rumble pack later but then Sony came out with a controller with 2 analog sticks and 2 motors. In my opinion the dual shock is vastly superior controller.
  • @GlycerinZ
Gran Turismo is the reason I got a PlayStation
  • This episode gave me an idea; you should do an episode on 2D games released in the 3D era. You covered a few of them on this video

Ridge Racer's drifting only really works when in first person, and it takes a bit to pick up. I couldn't play any Ridge Racer game properly until I realized that. The music is also definitely an acquired taste, if you're not a fan of early-90s hardcore techno, you won't get it at all. Probably the most ordinarily enjoyable song in the game is Grip (dunno if that's in the original or only in Revolution). maybe one day you will enjoy the songs Rotterdam Nation '95 and Dat Dan Day...A from Ridge Racer Revolution though, haha one day R4's a great game, but the handling always felt weird to me and I don't think it has particularly great track design, especially coming off of Rage Racer's absolutely amazing courses. It's easily the best looking PS1 game though, period. The soundtrack is standout too, one of the finest around.

I think I relived half my childhood with this video! Instantly added to My Favorites. Excellent retrospective of a great system you guys. Well done.

Wow. The stop motion at the end was pretty messed up :D
  • @mattorama
The stop motion disassembly sequences you guys do are the best parts of your videos.  It makes fairly mundane stuff like processor clocks and memory interesting.  Keep up the good work, I love the videos you guys put out.
