I've gotten back on the horse again and beginning my long camping trip. I've got the small camper hooked up and will be using it as a home base over most of the winter on a healing journey.

  • Great to see yah smiling man. I think we can all say we’re excited to join you on this journey!
  • Honestly Steve could've said he was camping in a pillow fort in his living room and we all would still be here watching from start to end. Good to see you back!
  • Steve. I retired 3 months ago. Leading up to that, the stress was incredible. Many a night I would wake up at 1 AM, unable to sleep. I would brew a Keurig and watch your latest episode. Your calm demeanor "brought me down". Then, I'd go back to bed for a couple hours...able to wake up at 3:30 to go to work. You carried me through the last year of work. THANK YOU! I introduced my wife to you (vicariously, through your videos). She and I just watched this. Welcome back. I (we) missed you, my friend. If you are ever in Ohio, look me up. I have enough wooded property you can stealth camp. It would be an honor. Tom

How can anyone troll you Steve, when you are the nicest man on the internet, doing the best stuff, while you are grieving. Furious shame on them. But the Swedish PIs visiting them in their homes is a brilliant way to get back at their evil. May our loving vibes bring you comfort while you journey through your sorrow. ❤
  • I love how you said this is a trip for new roads. It's a new chapter for you but you will carry always your memories and lessons from your past chapters wherever you go... but today... today is for moving forward. It's wonderful to see you back. You're an inspiration to so many of us. Welcome back Steve, cheers to new memories and roads not yet discovered!
  • Hi Steve. I've never commented on a YouTube video before but I just wanted to say how glad I am that you're back. Your videos carried me through many sleepless nights caring for my infant twins. When they were colicky I would put one of your videos on. They would sooth me which, in turn, helped sooth my children back to sleep. I just wanted to say thank you.
  • You probably won’t see this Steve, but I just want to let you know that your videos are what I go to when I can’t sleep because of severe anxiety I developed during the pandemic after being laid off. With a family to provide for, it really got to me. I’ve been following you since that happened, and things have gotten better for me, but your videos kept gave me that little “getaway” when I was feeling overwhelmed by life. ❤❤
  • Dear Steve, We're very grateful you're feeling healed enough to come back to the channel and proud of you for doing all the hard work of grieving - it really takes it out of a person. And also we're thankful to all the superfans helping Steve run the channel so that we can have this content again.
  • Your point about having lots of good memories on a particular stretch of road but not being able to revisit them yet really spoke to me. What struck me when I lost my girlfriend was how even the good memories become hard memories. You take for granted when you're making those good memories that you'll have them for life, no matter what. You don't though, they become painful memories too. Rooting for you, Steve. Glad to see you're back on the road. You'll see her again brother.
  • Holy cow... a private investigator??? Good for you, it's about time someone stands up to the bullies on the internet. Loved this video. Thank you for inviting us to follow along with you. Looking forward to seeing where you go next.
  • The minute I saw your hand with your wedding ring still on I broke a few tears. Hold your memories close. When I lost my husband 16 years ago it felt like my heart was torn in two. Overtime the jagged edges smooth out. and I learned to live with my loss. However, the hole is still there and will never go away. Please take this time slow and don't make any huge changes. I made a couple and now I regret them. Ive watched your videos off n on for the last year or so. I love to watch your adventures. Keep going and enjoy what you have!

Never thought i could get so emotional by hearing the sentence "Welcome to camping with Steve" again. Good to see you are doing well and back on the road exploring new places. Thanks for taking us along with you in this rough time.

Steve, remember this each night in bed as you wait to fall asleep. You have an army of people who have your back, are supporting you in times of need, and who generally enjoy your content. Just keep being you, and the rest will fall smoothly into place. We got you, and Jess with her beautiful energy embracing you to push forward and make the most of your time here. Remember this as well, it has helped all of us I'm sure on here, the person who has left us simply arrived first to the grand adventure. They haven't taken off "forever". They just arrived first. You are a little slower 😜. But we all end up at that Grand destination, together, so how awesome. For now, this temporary earthly adventure, make the most of it cause you/we can't come back and experience it again (or to pick up gear you left behind at a site )! Hehe. Love to you my/our online friend.
  • My condolences to you Steve on the loss of your wife. Also to your family and her family.
  • I genuinely feel that the last clip of the video was one of those YouTube moments I will never forget. I grew up watching YouTube and its been a very big part of my life, I'm able to find those little rabbit holes that make the world seem like a better place. I don't know if anybody else has those or that same feeling but when I listened I knew that everyone moment I will remember forever. Watching you Steve for years now and just seeing the good in the bad really brought a tear to my eye. I don't honestly foresee a time that id ever stop watching because I love every second of the videos, They. Are. Awesome. thank you Steve!
  • Warmed my heart and put a big smile on my face to hear "Welcome to camping with Steve" again. We love you Steve!
  • @wolfboof
Good to have you back, Steve. We missed you! Hope you're doing well, God bless.
  • it gives me hope to see you like this. you have no expectations to any of us of course, but your process of healing is allowing me to heal as well. thanks Steve, you're a real one.

The man's enthusiasm for fresh buns is contagious, homemade Arby's tomorrow night it is. That aside - Steve, it is so, so good to see you out and about and we cherish you bringing us along with. Getting to see your drive through the mountains was just.. immaculate. I just did a longhaul solo trip 15 hrs both ways to & from Wise, VA, and while those peaks of yours feel more akin to Tonto National Forest than the Blueridge, it's still a certain sort of home shape.
