The only vehicles that can handle heavy-duty jobs like transporting large loads, towing, off-roading, and still function like popular personal passenger cars are pickup trucks and SUVs. China has revealed a truck that surpasses what other pickup trucks and SUVs offer at a more affordable price, likely attracting many buyers due to its comprehensive features. The newly launched Changan Hunter pickup truck, with a starting price of just $19,000, sets a new benchmark that other automakers might follow. The Changan Hunter is not only affordable but also boasts an exceptional exterior design, high-quality interior with a modern aesthetic, and practicality for users who prefer physical control buttons as well as those who favor touchscreens for various controls. It incorporates the latest technology features and offers a significantly longer driving range than any other pickup truck currently on the market.

When considering reliable and popular pickup trucks, names like the Toyota Hilux come to mind, known for its reliability, durability, and off-road capabilities, with over 17.7 million units sold since its launch in 1968. The Toyota Hilux is followed by the Ford Ranger, which has been popular for the last forty years for its robust off-road capabilities and urban functionality. Other notable models include the Volkswagen Amarok, Toyota Tacoma, Maxus T90EV, Ford F-150 Lightning, and GMC Hummer EV. However, these manufacturers may soon need to adopt the new technology used in the Changan Hunter Pickup Truck, making China the first to embrace Extended Range Electric Vehicles (EREV) in their pickup trucks.

It is quite surprising that every now and then, China releases innovations that are impressive and often beyond expectations. In recent years and even today, some Chinese manufacturers and automakers have been following in the footsteps of top car makers from Japan, Europe, and America in terms of vehicle design, powertrain technology, market share, and sales. The quality of Chinese products is now being compared to those from other nations, and this is evident with the release of the new Changan Hunter Pickup Truck. The dynamics are shifting, with China taking the lead, and other automakers are likely to follow the footsteps of Chinese companies like Changan Automobile, which has just released the world's first-ever Extended Range Electric Pickup Truck, a milestone that no other automaker has achieved in history.

  • Japanese and Western pick up trucks have become so expensive 😢 In South Africa Chinese pick ups like GWM and others are slowly increasing in sales as people see there isn't much difference with Toyota and so on. Chinese ones are cheaper Go China

The technology is impressive, but the design is too close to current offerings. Body panels should have been design differently. As it stands, the body is very close to the Ford Ranger.
