I couldn’t use the scanner function for many years because it makes all black print. I just follwed your advise and took out the cable and cleaned it with kitchen towel gently. Now the scanner works perfectly! Thanks a lot!!

Unbelievable.... I was genuinely sceptical, still gave it a try - and it works!!! Thank you so much

Thank you so much!! I am a complete computer illiterate housewife and even I was able to follow your video and fix our scanner/photocopier which has been broken for over a year. Feeling great!

To God be the Glory!!! I wasn’t able to use my scanner for months until I watched your video tonight. Thank you so much!!!

I just followed your video as a last ditch effort to fix the vertical line issue with my scanner and it worked!! Just to clarify for others, you will need Torx T10 bit to remove the 3 screws and you pull the actual ribbon out of the connector, the end of the ribbon is thicker so be cautious but know that it is somewhat re-enforced so wiggling it side to side while pulling up on it works just fine.

Thank you. I almost threw away my scanner/printer when my middle schooler fixed it by learning from your video.

It actually worked! Possibly the most useful video on YouTube! Thank you!

Wow, it worked. Thank you sir! Also, thanks for NOT videoing the removing of the screws!! Much appreciated!!

Worked like a dream...thanks. To remove the little screws you’ll need a Trox bit adapter size T10, those screws are very tiny. Had to clean twice but all tricks and suggestions worked. Many thanks.

You are a genius!!! Thank you so very much!!! I had to clean my ribbon 5 times with electric cleaner and it WORKED!!!

Thank you so much for this video! Who would have thought a quick clean would fix this issue

I was highly doubtful, but promised my wife I'd try before tossing our much loved Envy. Like an earlier commenter noted: The ribbon comes out of the plug. The plug is soldered to the board. I didn't have electronic cleaner and just used a Zeiss lens cleaning wipe with alcohol. I carefully replaced the ribbon and bingo. I still can't believe that this was so easy. Just struggled for a year without a scanner. THANK YOU!!!

Have you ever disassembled the envy 120 ? I have a failure in the print carriage that marks jamming and I have no problem. Disassembling the printer is complicated to separate the lower part from the upper part to be able to look at the problem. thanks
