$9,400,000 divided by 106 = $88,679 per person, absolutely INSANE!!!

How does one shelter renovation cost 9.4 million?! Multiple houses can be built for that! Corruption with our tax $
  • $9.4 million taxpayer dollars to renovate a homeless shelter for homeless who refuse shelter? For the few that apply, do they each get a mint on their pillow before bedtime?

Homelessness isn’t meant to be solved. It’s meant to never end bc the Homeless Industrial Complex makes a lot of $$$. A lot.

Can we please look at the data & stop calling this a homeless issue in Poorland - what our local government has created with all of the "nonprofit$" is shameful. What we have is a population of 6k people the overwhelming majority of which has addiction and/or mental issues and that refuse shelter and services issue. Need to focus on how changing the laxed laws that enable this. $10M for that? NEED AN AUDIT

Seriously this is so blunt, these won’t work, it looks like a prison and actually worst! Shame, it’s so empty

If you don't allow the homeless to do drugs while staying there then the homeless won't show up. This project is doomed to fail. You need to FORCE THEM into these places. or The other alternative is jail. Which is also permanent housing (the latter is the better solution) #cleanupourstreets #NOMORELAWLESSNESS

I think this is absolutely FANTASTIC!!! And scru the naysayers, btw! Nothing ever pleases them, no matter what!! I would however, like to speak to something i heard this one man say, to the effect: 'It must be TREATMENT B4 Housing!' So i don't think he's ever spent a picosecond with a Single Homeless Person, let alone a Community of them?! It should be HOUSING 1st! With wrap around services & a Case Worker assigned to each, until its determined they don't need one any more! Treating someone for a drug addiction & then sending them right back out into the streets is a fools folly & a complete waste of our Tax $$$$! What incentive do they have when they are still going 2B in the same vulgar lifestyle, & with all the temptations they will endure? I believe that HOUSING 1st, with all the aforementioned - would be the best plan?! I also believe that alot of the 'mental illness' we see, is from a drug problem that went on too long sans treatment therefrom?

Internment camp non optional enlistment to the ideals of this community
  • Kowardly KOIN always turns off comments. Now spending $million$ on home-economics classes for meth cooks? There is an empty Wal-Mart on 82nd, surrounded by homeless addict camps. Complete with a subway cooking facility and restrooms inside. There is video security infrastructure in place. There are warehouses full of office cubicle dividers for privacy. The criminals closed the store, so maybe they should re-open it as their new home...
