What to See and Do in CARTAGENA COLOMBIA! TOP SIGHTS and OLD CITY TOUR

In this video we arrive in the country of Colombia for the very first time and head out to explore the top sights of Cartagena. We start off by wandering around the old walled city before quickly making our way inside for an early lunch to dodge a down pour as we visited during monsoon season. The food was delicious, the old city is full of great choices but of course prices are quite high in this part of Cartagena because it is very touristy, it might actually be our most expensive lunch we’ve bought since we started traveling full time.

Luckily the rain storms don’t last long and we were able to head out and explore more of Cartagena in the afternoon without anymore downpours! So we walked over to see the famous Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas which is perched up on top of a hill and as well as having some cool tunnels to explore it offers great views overlooking Cartagena.

After traveling around Argentina, Chile and Bolivia we had gotten used to a more temperate, and in recent months pretty cold climate, so the sudden heat in Colombia was hitting us pretty hard (my already fluffy hair began to take on another level of frizz) and we were melting so we decided to do what tourists do and hop on a bus. It was a great way to get a quick look around the whole place in relative comfort and we enjoyed the breeze along the way!

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight in 2020. We started this Youtube channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts in our vlogs and blogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content fun & useful :)

Hi, Channel and host couple Chris and Kristy, Wow!, what a spectacular video on old Spanish style conolian city, Catalonia, Columbia. Same as Europe has old big cities and medevial castles and forts, same is for all of South America, Mexico and Central America. Beautiful Spanish and Portuguese architecture, colourful houses, old conolian buildings, old Churches, cobbled streets despite of a dark period of Spanish concosta and Portuguese rule. Nevertheless, the background music gives a typical Latino/Carribbean vibe, very good! The icing on the cake is in Columbia drugs are sold openly in alleys. Looking forward to channel, keep on travelling, safety.
